St Mary's Chippy

I take Fish and Chips seriously. I used to drive to Leighton Buzzard to get my F&C fix, but not now! At St Mary's the fish is good quality, the frying just right and the batter crispy and tasty. Chips a great too, melt in the mouth :) Quick friendly service and a nice atmosphere as staff and customers are often chatting together.

A good Chippy is becoming harder to find these days. I have now been using St.Mary’s chippy for a number of years and have always had freshly cooked fish and chips. Never a bad meal in my experience. What’s makes it a good chippy? Well it starts with the ladies who serve, always friendly and up for a chat. The fish is always freshly cooked, yes there is a little wait, but worth it. The chips are proper thick cut chippy chips. It ticks all the boxes, not just one or two. But like all things it is a personal choice, but I’ve never been disappointed.

I had for at least 30 years considered the chippy a last choice for dinner. Then I popped into at Mary’s chippy... wow I’m back. Chips cooked to perfection and a massive choice of dishes tried and never disappointed. I even changed from the rose kebab van, although still the best st Mary’s come so close that with their wonderful chips and fresh salad they win every time. My kids would choose an angel or saint burger over any of the McDonald’s or Burger King offerings. Added to the savings on a full on family feed means it’s almost always a family agreement. That’s quite an achievement, well done guys... keep it up 👍

This is one of those shops that going into, is a pleasant experience. The staff are polite, nice and friendly. The food quality is high, good and tasty. You get a good amount, too. I pop in about once a month, and I can say, not been disappointed yet. Do drop in if passing. It could become your favourite Chippy!
