Keller's Iron Skillet

This little restaurant is what's called a "hole in the wall" and it is a prime example of why I love them. The atmosphere made me feel like I was back home in Alabama and that's a good thing. All of the people eating were enjoying the morning and it was obvious that most of them were regulars. The servers seemed to know everyone personally and talked to eveyone quite a bit. Service was fast and the food was fantastic and cooked as requested. Not much curb appeal on this one but it is definitely a hidden gem. Great place to relax and have a cup of coffee. You'll probably learn a lot about the locals, too. By the way, the prices are phenomenal!

Rough around the edges, but comfortable inside. A real down-home-diner feel. Help-yourself salad and soup bar for starters, followed by homemade salmon patties for the main course; a bit like potato pancakes. Hash browns on the side. Plenty of paraphernalia hanging on the walls keeping it cozy. Was treated like "one of the boys." Left full, very reasonable prices.

This place was exactly like I hoped it would be having judged it from it's outside appearance. The food is fast hot made to order. The service was friendly and attentive. The coffee was good, hot and they were quick to refill your cup. Lastly, the prices were probably cheaper than you could make it for at home. Close to me, I'll be back whenever I have time to sit down and eat, especially breakfast.
