116 Buffet

This is an excellent South American / Latin American Buffet. They will cook your steak fresh or your hamburger fresh which is included in the price of the $13.99 meal or $10.99 for lunch Monday through Thursday. This restaurant is very clean. The flavors are very good without being hot except of course for the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeno which I left alone. They have arepa, shrimp, steak, or chicken fajitas, brisket, Chateaubriand, delicious pork chops and several chicken or pork or beef dishes. There is a great selection of vegetable dishes including the broccoli zucchini casserole which you must which is very good. There's also a salad bar and a dessert bar. Some of the desserts are good, but some are store bought, putting the main emphasis on Fresh dinner food. They have a 10% discount for seniors for 60 and over, and also for the military. The lunch buffet for kids (3-10 years old) is $4.99 for lunch, and $6.50 for dinner. This restaurant is just getting started so it's a good time to go out and try Latin food before the lines get long.

Staff was very friendly, constantly cleaning and attending food lines and customers. No prices listed for buffet, and was not told price before meal. Dinner is $12.99. Food lacked flavor, and while having a lot of options, there was not a lot of variety. Quality of food was very low, worse than Golden Corral(bad, imo). Low amounts on a lot of food pans, some were not refilled at all over the hour I was there during prime dinner time(6:30p-7:30p). Desserts were clearly purchased from a local supermarket. I feel bad leaving a review like this, but it was honestly not very good. This is the opening week, they may improve over time, but they have a long way to go. It is unlikely I will return.

Cannot express enough how much this place impressed me. To be honest I went in not expecting much but had a great meal. I'm aware that the restaurant originated as a buffet and did see several poor reviews. My wife and I went after they switched to a table service menu. I hope they stick with this model. We had a mixed grill with a perfectly cooked, medium rare steak, an arepa with super tender meat, awesome fried plantains, and the Venezuelan hot dog... Oh dear! It was the size of a football! Perfect drinking food, which was my only complaint. No beer yet but the waiter assured me their license was on its way. Great service too. Definitely worth checking out.

Great options for anyone. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. American and Latin options from Mac and cheese/chicken fingers to Venezuelan beef/fajitas and everything in between. Was impressed with the options for kids or adults. Anyone can find something they like here. Highly recommended if you’re looking for large quantities of buffet food at a decent price.

Well, we saw that a new restaurant had opened where Golden Corral used to be. So, we thought we'd give it a try. The dinner buffet is $14 a person not including drinks which are $2.25. Which means it's over $16 a person. There were a lot of food choices. The food we tried was not bad, but not great either. Most of what we tasted was heavy, a bit bland, and dry. The staff were very friendly and polite. I am hoping that Mateo's does a little fine tuning of their food and maybe lower their price point by a couple dollars (maybe just include the drinks in the buffet price). I wish them the best.

The food tasted great and the steam tables were good and got. It appeared we came at a show time (I think they were nearly closed on a Sunday evening) so I think some of the food has been out long enough to begin to cook down. We definitely want to try again during a higher traffic time when the food will have to keep being refilled. Staff were fun and our glasses never empty.
