Vespri Siciliani

We had other dinner plans that were canceled. We found Vespri Siciliani with a Google search. We were not disappointed. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the evening air. The ambiance is intimate. Perfect for a small couples dinner or a romantic evening. Our server made good menu recommendations. The highlight of the meal was the tiramisu. It was served in a martini glass with a mint and strawberry garnish.

I really never leave reviews but this experience warranted it. We were sat per our reservation at 6:30. No waiter came to even take drink orders til 7. We had informed staff twice in that time that we were ready to order drinks and no one came. They then brought drinks, including sparkling water, but no glasses. Took another 5-10 minutes to get glasses. Shortly after that our food arrived, but well before our appetizers. They took our food back and we waited another 15 minutes for starters. Everyone has a bad night, and I wouldn't leave a negative review because of these mistakes, but the staff was so rude about it! No urgency to provide service, unapologetic about the wait and confusion, and almost sarcastic/snide. We were not even complaining or criticizing. They just seemed resentful when we pointed out a mistake. Several points throughout the night other waiters came to our table to try to deliver food that we didn't order. Overall it took 3 hours for dinner. The food was good, but I just can't understand why the staff was so unattentive.

Located in the Royal palm plaza, a heaven for restaurants. every types of cuisine you can imagine. Parking is a problem but they have valet parking at several locations. Fairly new restaurant with a large outdoor patio. Very attentive staff. Really nice menu. We started with Caprese , homemade mozzarella, tomato, and basil olive oil and Parmigiana Di Melanzane, homemade eggplant parmesan. Both were very good. For mains, I ordered the Spaghetti ai Frutti Di Mare .Tiger prawn, squid, shrimp, clams, mussels, olive oil and garlic. You can order with Rissitto instead of spaghetti. A little light on the seafood but enjoyable. My tried a new item, Ravioli Osso Bucco, homemade ravioli with veal in a chef sauce.

I had a wonderful experience here with my friends. I have to say the food is very very tasty and the ingredients are fresh and good quality. I got the lasagna and it is so far the best one i have had in florida being very similar or the same as an authentic italian lasagna. The wine selection is good. My friends order the pasta, others the fish in salt (here are some pics of the plates) and everyone loved it. I have to say that the place is a bit over priced and the portions are not as satisfying but overall i HIGHLY recommend visiting Vespri. Service is 10/10! Place is clean with a wonderful decor. Outside terrace seating is available.

While the food was better than Olive Garden, the service was not. Our waiter was impatient and did not want to put the appetizers in but only "the whole" order so we opted out of appetizers. When we did get our food (which we all enjoyed), the offer of parmesan was accepted and a sealed plastic container like one would get in take-out was given - not sure if Covid precludes the fresh parm grater distribution like one would expect in a nice restaurant. The waiter never came to check on the meal, whether we wanted more wine or even desert. Dirty dishes sat in front of us as we finished the after dinner drinks that, even when I moved one or two to an empty table next to us, did not prompt anyone to clear any others from our table. Bottom line - food good. Service - not so.
