Eddie's Diner

I enjoyed my omelette and coffee at the diner this morning. What I enjoyed even more was sitting at the counter and engaging with some of the senior locals. Boise is a really cool place even though most of us have never been here. It’s got everything you could ask for in a city. The woman next to me really gave me some interesting insight into the town and her life. She living out the rest of her days chasing summer. I’m so jealous of that. I appreciated her friendliness so much I picked up breakfast. I’m learning that as you get older it’s important to listen and learn. This was an unexpected stop, but I’m so glad I got to experience everything in these past few days. I’m adding Boise to places I’ll need to return and possibly move in the future.

I have a new favorite that I can't wait to share! This place is great. The waitresses are so sweet and the cook takes pride in his food. You know the foods good when the cooks and staff eat there too on and off shift! I have had a few different items off the menu, but they have great specials including for light eaters or seniors. The milkshakes and other desserts are so good and never takes your whole paycheck. I am not sure what to recommend because it's all great. They have breakfast and lunch with a great ambiance. I often get the small version of the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. My mom gets the chicken fried steak. We both order an order of fries with brown gravy to dip them in. That's if they make it that far, the fries are something not to miss and the real deal! It is a smaller diner, and they close at 3 usually, but worth the trip wherever you are. I have fallen in love with Eddie's Diner, and I promise you will too! All generations will be able to find something for them, from kids to seniors. You will make memories and tummies will be happy!

Lunch was perfect. My omelet was packed with crunchy bacon and melted cheese. The hashbrowns were fluffy and crunchy. We should have gotten the smaller portion of the skillet it was quite generous. But there wasn't any problem getting a Togo box. Coffee had good flavor and they provided my favorite hazelnut creamer. The server was friendly and helpful. She topped off my coffee as I drank it. The entrance was well maintained with enough ice melt to prevent any slipperiness. The exterior and interior have it a 50s theme. They also had a quality artist paint the windows. The table was clean and well stocked with any condiments we wanted for coffee and meals.
