Zeppole Bakery & Cafe

Zeppole has been a SE Boise favorite for decades! I love their ciabatta bread, their cookies, their sandwiches (hot tip: ask for pesto mayo), their soup, their banana bread, their lemon bars… the list goes on and on. Hosting guests and need a nice fresh baguette? Skip the grocery store, this is the place to go.

I grew up going to Zeppole on Apple, went to Timberline and was a frequent flyer. Great place for lunch, soup, pastries, fresh bread. Delish! I moved away for a decade and recently I've been back to Apple location 3 times and the customer service has been terrible. I felt rushed, the staff didn't listen to my order and just plain rude. 4 stars due to such great experiences in the past and everything I've ordered is still delicious, but I'd give 1 star for most recent service.

We like zeppole. The employees are really friendly and helpful. We like their brutti rolls, sourdough loaf and challah buns, etc. So when we heard they were doing croissants we were so excited! But unfortunately, they were the worst pastries we’ve ever had. We went on a Saturday morning, around 9:30 expecting fresh baked pastries, but all of them were stale. We ordered 2 chocolate croissants, 2 plain, and a berry danish. They were not flaky, they were dry and chewy. Selling old croissants is not acceptable! UPDATE: Zeppole recently changed the ingredients in their sandwich loaves and possibly others. As you can see in the picture, their rustic wheat loaf used to have minimal ingredients, but now they have added artificial flavors, mono & diglycarides, etc., as pictured. Please go back to your old recipe, your bread was delicious and healthier the way it was! I would much rather get my bread from a local company like you guys then from a supermarket.
