Jalepenos Restaurant

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, this isn’t the restaurant for you. The food was either flavorless or had too much of one seasoning—black pepper. The one thing that was great was the fast service, I think we ordered our food and within 5 mins the food was delivered which leads me to believe it might’ve been heated and pre made (not fresh). My husband had a tamale and burrito, my daughter had the mini corn dogs which were served burnt and too hot to eat. I had the shrimp ceviche which appeared to be salsa and a shrimp mix, with tons of black pepper. The waitress asked me if I didn’t like it and I explained to her (in Spanish) what was wrong and it had way too much black pepper I couldn’t eat it. She offered me something else and was apologetic. I let her know I appreciated her trying to make it right, but no thank you. I would not recommend this place especially if you’re looking for real fresh food with an authentic Mexican flavor. It is also over priced for the quantity and lack of quality.

This is the greatest restaurant in Boise. The food is beyond superb. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If we need something there are happily there to serve. The attend to each individuals questions, requests, and handicaps with a huge smile that is the true meaning of customer support. Thank you so very much. I love to come as often as I can.

I was looking forward to trying Jalapenos for some great Mexican food. First the positive, nice atmosphere, friendly, courteous staff, good chips and salsa. I always order a combination cheese enchilada, shredded beef taco, rice and beans the first time I try a Mexican restaurant. What a disappointment, no cheese on the taco or melted cheese on the cheese enchilada. I wondered why shredded cheese was a menu item, didn't know I had to order it on what should have been standard fare. At their prices, which I don't mind paying for good food, it definitely should have been included. Sorry, I won't be returning.

Katie was our server and she was terrible. The food was ok, not the worst but definitely not the best. We ordered out food, waited a little while and then our food came. No how is everything, no can I get you anything?... it would have been ok but we didn't even have utensils and we had to track down other servers to help. While we were still eating we got served our bill... we needed to split it.. but we had to track down another server for that.. we were never asked if we wanted desert or had our waters refilled. Poor service.
