We’ve given Gaston’s a couple of tries, and it’s never up to standard. These are some of the worst pastries we’ve had. There is no way they are baked fresh in the morning, because they are never flaky, they are always cold, and there is no smell of baking bread when you go in. The Nutella pastry had hardly any Nutella, as pictured, and the Pain Au Raisin was akin to stale, doughy bread. They should stick to what they do best, which is bread, not pastries.

The croissants were not good, tasted kind of stale and didn’t have that crispy layered effect that a group croissant should have. But the Marionberry scone was delicious!!

Always love coming here and never had a bad experience! In and out very fast! Great display and always filled with fresh products! Employees are very nice and kind! Store is clean and well maintained

After a few visits to Gaston’s I doubt the pastries are baked fresh daily. There was no smell of fresh baked pastries. They are not flaky, and they were cold, as though they had been stored in a fridge overnight. They were pretty doughy unfortunately, and felt very bready.

Great fresh bread! Well made with great ingredients. I specifically go in for fresh bread, with a crunchy crust and moist center.
A little pricey if you plan to buy in bulk! Otherwise totally worth it!

Wow what a Boise Gem. French breads, pastries, an quiches. Check out on there web site. Pre ordering is a good idea. An prepare for a trip to France 🇫🇷 right here in Boise. Had family visiting. When you have a house full of family visiting. An everyones getting ready for the day. You can heat it up an they can serve them self.

Laminated pastries were very “bread-y” on the inside. I was hoping for something fluffy and airy, with a beautiful honeycomb structure. Baguette was pretty good - crusty on the outside. I’ll be back for the breads, not the pastries.

My favorite local bakery in Boise. They also usually have a stall at the farmer's market. Love the ham and swiss croissant (or any of the stuffed croissants). Cannot recommend more highly. If you don't have time to stop by, they also stock a number of coffee shops in the valley.
