Joe's Waterfront

We went here after a tour in Boston. We started with French onion soup that was great. Came in a little cast iron pot, good croutons. We got the Nashville wings. The herb ranch was great. The wings were a little greasy but the pickles paired well. After the wings, we ordered the nachos. Great chip to topping ratio. By the time our main dish came, we weren’t hungry. We ordered the chicken pot by off the specials list for our main. Overall delicious but not a traditional pot pie. The crust was a nice egg washed puff pastry. The filling was more like a soup. Nice amount of shredded chicken and the veggies had a nice crunch. We didn’t take this to go as it probably would have dripped out of the take away container. Wouldn’t recommend the old fashioned- very sweet with chipped ice. Our waiter was little spacey- had to ask for spoons a few times.

The food was SO DELICIOUS! And as an absolute bonus, the staff was incredibly kind and happy, the atmosphere is wonderful, drinks are 100% and there a great waterfront view from inside and out! And a great view of Boston! This is a great place to go for date night, family dinner, girls night out, or like me- a lil self-date dinner!

We stopped on our own self-directed food tour. Food was good. Service was a bit lacking. Atmosphere is nice - right on the water. We wanted to sit outside but there was no shade so we opted for an inside table (still a nice view). We just had appetizers and drinks so I can't speak to most of the dishes. Clean bathrooms.

CHOOOOOW-DAAAAH Sometimes you just want a warm bowl of clam chowder & a beautiful view - I came, I saw & I conquered (half) a bread bowl of chowder. The rest of my friends helped me enjoy a dozen oysters, the shellfish platter appetizer & some delicious drinks. We were lucky enough to have a table with a view of the boat dock and the sun setting. Good food & friends make me come back time and time again!

If you are a single, independent, career-focused woman on a spontaneous solo roadtrip to celebrate her 35th birthday, please have Joe's Waterfront on your list of Boston stops! They have all the right pitches to fill a lady's birthday tummy. And if you have Ilana to serve you, it's your lucky day! On the night of August 19th, I was on the hunt for the RIGHT slice of cake to close out my birthday night in Boston. I had just finished dinner at Union's Oyster House, but they didn't have any classic cake that I wanted for dessert. They recommended I give the famous Modern Pastry a visit. I arrived at the fattest, crowded line ever on the narrowest cobblestone block in town. Not worth it for a birthday slice. It was getting late, so I started heading back south to the Aquarium blue line station. Across the street was State Street Provisions. So why not, I went to check out their menu. Cheesecake and Pot de Creme sounded delicious, but again, they didn't feel right for my birthday. I was ready to accept that I won't have cake on my birthday, but went on a final stroll in Columbus Waterfront Park. Up Harborwalk, Joe's Waterfront came into view and its homely inn scene drew me in. Ilana, the hostess, greeted me and fielded all my annoying questions about the "Seven-layered chocolate cake" which came with ice cream. I finally found my cake! Out of excitement, I told her it was my birthday and that was why I was being a stickler about the cake. She was warm and understanding, and later came back to me saying "Because it is your birthday, we're happy to give you the cake on the house." Thank you Ilana and Joe's Waterfront! Not only did you have the right cake, but you truly wanted me to feel loved and cared for, especially since I was on my own on my birthday. Your kind gesture meant a lot to me that I knew where I wanted to have my brunch the next day. That's right, I came back next morning and enjoyed your Lobster Benedict in the seat by the waterfront. The cake was delicious. The Lobster Benedict was stellar. I will be back again the next time I visit Boston!
