We recently celebrated our small wedding at the Hampshire House and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. From start to finish, the entire experience was outstanding, thanks to the exceptional professionals at Hampshire House and our incredible event coordinator, Sydney. The staff’s attention to detail and commitment to excellence ensured that our wedding day was nothing short of magical. We were particularly impressed with how seamlessly the operations were executed - big thank you Karim!! From coordinating vendors to managing the flow of the event, everything was executed with precision. The catering was excellent, with delicious food and impeccable service provided by the staff. Our guests were not only impressed by the beautiful venue but also by the level of service they received throughout the evening. Sydney is a true gem and has been an absolute pleasure to work with! From our initial visit to the wedding day, Sydney exhibited a level of professionalism, expertise, and effectiveness that made the entire process smooth and stress free. Sydney - you saved us many countless hours of planning!!! Your willingness to go above and beyond, even recommending last minute makeup artists, truly made a difference in bringing our vision to life! The Hampshire House, with its historic charm, elegant ambiance, and a beautiful grand piano, provided the ideal setting for our celebration. The venue’s two levels offered wonderful sunset views over the Public Garden and a seamless transition between cocktail hour and reception. The investment in Hampshire House and its exceptional team, with their top-notch service and delightful cuisine, is undeniably worthwhile for any event. Hampshire House was a dream!! All our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was and how delicious the food was. The location is also amazing- we did our photos in the public garden, on comm ave, and around beacon hill which all turned out beautifully! On its own, Hampshire house is an amazing venue, but what really made it incredible was Sydney (venue coordinator). Sydney was so incredibly helpful from the very beginning all the way up to the day of. Sydney was with us for every part of the planning process and truly made our vision come alive. She patiently answered all my millions of questions and never made me feel dumb for asking. She quelled all my anxieties and truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect!! Another thing we loved about HH and Sydney was that there were 0 hidden costs. They were very up front about the pricing and cost breakdowns which we did not find at a lot of other venues we looked at. If you go with Hampshire House and work with Sydney know that you are in amazing hands and will be so well taken care of. They didn’t miss a single detail!! 10/10 could not recommend Hampshire house enough!!

My partner and I recently had our wedding reception at the Hampshire house and I cannot imagine a better experience. From the very first email and call with Michele to the day of, they were caring, attentive, warm and personalized. The venue is beautiful, you barely need decorations since the place itself feels magical. The food is incredible also. And it was so nice to have food, linens, tables, etc completely taken care of for us. The day of was a complete dream and Michele helped us with so many last minute changes and personally helped with laying our cards. One example of absolutely incredible and above and beyond service - during the reception I was making my rounds to different tables and brought my food with me. Within 10 seconds Karim had brought me a chair to sit and fresh napkin and water. The guests themselves were blown away with the level of service. We had some non traditional elements at our reception and Michele not only allowed but was enthusiastic about them. I wish that every person could have the experience we did. Please book them for any part of your wedding, it is guaranteed to be magical!

The encyclopedia entry under “Professional” should simply be a description of Sydney Turnbull, who from beginning to end was invaluable in helping us plan our wedding reception at Hampshire House. A beautiful venue, a perfect night, delicious and well-presented food and drinks, but more than all this: the whole team of Hampshire House staff members ensured that our guests were comfortable, that we had time to ourselves on our special day, and that everything transitioned seamlessly throughout the night. There were times when it seemed as if Sydney had some magical power, anticipating our every need before we even knew we needed something! Her communication from our first meeting to the morning after was fast and efficient. Her years of experience in the industry shone through in everything she did. If you are looking for an intimate, classic Boston wedding, Hampshire House needs to be on your short-list. It’s one of the only places in the city which was intentionally built and designed for hosting weddings, and hardly needs additional decoration. The in-house kitchen makes delicious food, the menu selections are plentiful, and the bar/liquor options leave nothing to be desired. The option to use both the second and third floors of the building also broke the evening up in really nice ways, and allowed our guests to explore more of the venue space and see the sunset over the Public Garden from one of the best spots in the city. 10/10 -- no notes!

From the first time we emailed her through our wedding day and beyond, Michele has been incredible! She and everyone at Hampshire House are professional, knowledgeable, organized, and absolutely wonderful to work with. Our wedding day ran smoothly and efficiently, the food and drinks were delicious, the space was stunning, and they made the overall experience more than we could’ve ever asked for. If you are looking for a classic historic mansion in Boston to host a wedding this is the place. We had our wedding reception here and everything was perfect, from the food to the decor. We worked with Sydney and she was the best in responding to all of my questions. She was very polite and made sure the day ran smoothly. Our wedding was beautiful, more than 75% of our guest were visiting from out of town and really enjoyed Hampshire House. We keep hearing from our friends and family how delicious the food was and they were so full at the end of the night they barely had room for wedding cake. Sydney and her staff are very professional and made sure everyones allergies were addressed, everyone was very pleased with the service. The night flowed so smoothly, I could not have asked for anything better.

Every single detail of our wedding at Hampshire House was absolutely perfect and better than we ever dreamed it could be!! We truly had the absolute best day of our lives and it is all thanks to Michele & Karim at Hampshire House!!! The entire planning process with Michele went so seamlessly & her extensive expertise in weddings really was so helpful for us. She truly went above and beyond to ensure our day went smoothly without a hitch and ensured every little detail was perfect. In addition, the food is INCREDIBLE truly top notch many of our guests commented it was the best they ever had at a wedding venue! My husband said his meal at our wedding was the best steak he ever had and the clam chowder we went with for the first course was truly one of the best we have ever had in Boston! Working with Karim & the banquet team was also an amazing experience his attention to detail is unbelievable and he is a truly a master at what he does! You will be in GREAT hands working with the entire Hampshire House team. Lastly, the venue itself is stunning the library room is so beautiful and made the most perfect setting for our wedding ceremony & reception. Truly a dream venue for us. We highly recommended Hampshire House if you are looking for a beautiful, historical venue right in the heart of Boston next to the gardens & with a truly top notch team to work with for a seamless & unforgettable wedding celebration!! We will always treasure our wedding day & amazing experience at Hampshire House!!

Mike and I had our wedding reception there 9/10/22. I apologize for writing this review so late. The entire experience was flawless. Michele was an amazing manager and coordinator and took care of every detail. The food was exceptional. Our guests are still raving about the experience. A true Boston historic site with with an element of luxury and service that was top notch. Thank you Hampshire House for all that you do and preserving this historic site.

My wife and I got married in April of 2021. We had our wedding reception at the Hampshire House and we are so grateful that we did. It was like something out of a dream. The rooms and the building are gorgeous - like something our of Downton Abbey. The building overlooks the Boston Public Gardens, which isn't only a great view but the guests also have something else they can do in the area before cocktails and dinner begins. The whole setup makes you feel like a 19th century aristocrat. But don't let the old-timey charm of the facilities lead you to think its entirely old fashioned. They have an excellent sound system which we were able to connect to with an iPhone and run a playlist. We didn't even need a DJ for the night! This was helpful because of the COVID restrictions on the number of guests at the time. The food provided by their caterer and the wine and drink selection were both excellent as well. And the serving staff were top notch. We heard nothing but rave reviews and compliments from our guests about the food and service. The staff was incredibly helpful, professional and flexible with us in the planning stages as well. For example, because of COVID, we weren't able to do a piano performance that we had planned to do. However, they let us come in a few weeks earlier to record us doing the performance on their grand piano and in the same room while it was empty. We could then play the performance on a large screen TV for our guests at the time of the reception. Also, Hampshire House is just above the famous Cheers bar, so if you like the show Cheers (or in our case its spinoff, Frasier) they can decorate the lobby accordingly. You can also ask to remove all the Cheers references, but we liked them. I would highly recommend that you check out the Hampshire House for weddings and wedding receptions, especially if you're planning a more intimate affair. In addition, I know they host other events as well. I attended a small convention there in 2014 and remember having a good time then as well.
