Walking Beam Brewery

Very nice little nano Brewery in the middle of Bridgeport. They have a kitchen that seems to open about 5:00 p.m. with a large pizza oven. They use the pizza oven not only for the pizzas but for hot wings and a few other dishes we did not eat here but people were ordering takeout without staying for the beer so must be good.

Decided to visit WBBCo last night in hopes of finding a new spot close to home to enjoy a cold beer or cocktail while grubbing on some food. We pulled up a seat at the bar and where we were greeted by the bar tender. Ordered two beers and two Santa Fe burgers. No complaints so far., but that would change. Beer was cold….limited selection. Burgers did not hit the spot. The cherry tomatoes on top killed any flavor they may have had. The intent of the atmosphere is great, the execution sucks. The events of last night lead me to believe we had chosen a dive bar for our dinner choice instead of a craft brew gastro pub. Patrons were over served. One had literally passed out with head down on the bar. Disappointing because there is so much potential.

We had no probs but we just ordered pizzas and salads. They have some gourmet toppings, not your cardboard box pizza. The Hawaiian and a few flavors have Mikes Hot Honey drizzled on them. YUM! I would say 8-10 flavors of pizza total, one kind of nachos, a hummus plate, a few salads, a pretzel and cheese and a few other things to eat. Drink menu is endless! Very clean millennial place. Sure it's trendy with the hipsters. A few big flat screen tvs, some bar seating, a few bar height tables, and indoor picnic tables.

WORST SERVICE EVER. DIRECTLY FROM THE OWNERS THEMSELVES. The audacity to argue with us over a -legitimate- dissatisfaction over a menu item. We shared TWO bites upon realizing the menu item was inedible due to lazy and ill preparation. TWO BITES. Upon seeking a replacement that would be properly cooked, the bartender AND owner (female) both argued with us and refused to prepare a fresh, -properly- cooked item. We were condescendingly spoken to and degraded because we had “never owned a restaurant” before. My extreme discontent is not with the food (which could have been easily resolved) but how the staff and owners handled our concern with disrespect, challenge, degradation and lack of hospitality for a service and goods which we were paying for. The couple across from us, whom we have never met, witnessed the entire situation in shock. Do yourselves a favor and SKIP OUT on this garbage establishment.
