Browns Brasserie & Bar

Had a nice meal.. We decided early in the day that we wanted to go out for dinner. Was surprised to be able to book a table on a Saturday evening with ease. Not sure what that says about a restaurant. Anyhow not going to lie had 4 pints before arriving for dinner. Atmosphere was okay, clientele was middle class, a few couples where the male was trying to impress by taking his date to Browns. Food was okay, I mushrooms on sourdough bread which was nice. For the main I had pulled pork shepherd pie which was delicious but a very small portion with two stems of broccoli. Did have a dessert too, salted caramel profiteroles which was okay but looked shop brought. Had a cocktail with our desserts which over sickly but really nice to finish our meal. Service was good. Brown's is a nice establishment, think it is trying too hard to be something it's not a fine dining.

First time in Browns, took my wife for her birthday. Excellent service, we were looked after by Chrissie, making sure all was ok, but never pestering. Food was superb, 3 courses, just the right amount of time between courses When pudding was served, Chrissie had put a lit candle on one of the deserts!, and the chef had written 'happy b day' on the plate in chocolate! ...we both sang happy birthday of course! A real nice touch.. An excellent experience, very professional and will be calling again next time we're in Brighton!
