Criterion Tavern

This establishment has been here for many, many, many years, it is a Brisbane institution! Located on the corner of George and Adelaide Street, Criterion is a bistro with pokies and a restaurant/bar. Our party of 3 arrived around 6:30pm on a Wednesday. Plenty of available seating. The place was clean and not too loud even though there were quite a few people. There are always specials available for dining. Tonight was a blank Angus pie with chips. I had the chicken parmigiana with pineapple and chilli sauce - great combination of flavours. Service was quick and staff are friendly. Recommend visiting if you are looking for a good feed at reasonable prices.

Stuff is rude. The place is too expensive for the quality and there is a pretty trashy atmosphere. Just arrived, a guy with no hair and a red beard refused to serve me a beer because I said the chips were too expensive and insulted me. It was my first time here and obviously I would never go again. There are better places around.
