Sakura Japanese Restaurant

We visited this restaurant at lunch time. The lunch set was okay, but for the price you would have expected better quality food and presentation. The stir fry seafood udon looked okay, but it was way too oily - with oil dripping off each strand of noodle. After managing to finish the dish (so we don't waste it), the leftover oil on the plate can be used to make 2 more dishes of stir fry at home... 🤷‍♀️ Maybe other foods at the restaurant will be of better quality...

Always sensational! One of the best south side Japanese restaurant. Love their fresh Japanese sashimi and sushi. Parents love their hot pot style food eg sukiyaki and shabu shabu. Menu choices are quite extensive. Service is average. Though if you come as a big group, very limited seating indoor so most likely you will be placed outside of the restaurant in the walkway area.

The costumer service is absolutely disgusting. As I am an Uni lover, I ordered $18 sea urchin (Uni). The quality of Uni was terrible. I could not even swallow it because of strong ammonia odour. I immediately spitted it out and did not eat the rest of Uni. The other one colour was dark and it was not tempting at all. That Uni was the worst I’ve ever had. I told one of the waitresses to inform that the urchin is not fresh and politely asked her to take the plate back. And then an old lady waitress (she is a boss I guess) came with that plate straight afterwards told us “This is normal.” Oh well, how do you know without tasting it. I know you guys have a pride of fresh sashimi/food and I understand the supplying fresh seafood is not that easy. I wouldn’t be so offended if one of them apologised or delivered something better costumer service. I tasted, I smelled it and I have no doubt that it was completely off. I paid ORIGINAL price with 1% surcharge. Again, no apologies... One thing also got me mad was other table got fresh Uni. I could tell it was fresh because their Uni colour was bright and yellow meanwhile, ours was greyish. Even they also agreed that our Uni colour is not great. Why do I have to pay the same price if the seafood is not fresh?? So unfair and so random… Other food was good but Uni + the lady attitude ruined everything.
