Nick's Takeaway

Highly recommended the calamari, the texture was tender and not rubbery at all. Overall enjoyed everything, the crumbing and chips were lovely and crisp. The only downside was that found the kabana a little overcooked and dry, so would give it a miss next time. There's only one table to sit at if dining in, so takeaway would be best.

I decided to try this place due to the high reviews. Unfortunately, it did not live up to these reviews. The chips were clearly old and tasted like freezer burn, the fish tasted bland and oddly tasted sometimes like soap, the lemon was cut so small. The only good part of the meal was the pineapple fritter.

Awful. Deserves 0 stars. Batter is gross and chewy. Chips dry and salty. Scallops werent even battered on both sides. The buns were weird too like a brioche bun and no beetroot on a burger with lot. 3 burgers, 1 sav, 3 fritters, 4 scallops and chips was $70!!!! Are you kidding? Miss the old owners and want a refund

Never have I tried so hard to give a business my money unsuccessfully. Several different days, times...Menulog order gets stuck on awaiting confirmation for 15mins and then the order gets cancelled. It's a shame because the one order I actually managed to get was *great* but it shouldn't be this difficult.

Had some very tasty fish and chips last night. Lovely and fresh and cooked the way I like it. Read a few reviews since change of ownership. Seems like the new owners have taken on suggestions and feedback to bring the quality up to speed from what we all expect of this Tarragindi icon. Thanks guys! Keep up the good work.

Nicks Takeaway. For my entire 38 years Nick & Julie provided 10 star fish and FAMOUS chips. Today was the first time trying the new owners..... I would give it a zero if I could. The Chips were so oily and soggy. The prawn cutlets and seafood sticks were soggy also.... After our family supporting Nicks for 60+ years.... this is the last yime we will be going to Nicks... We were hoping the same quality would've continued after the sale but unfortunately not.
