Maha Latchmi Indian Sweets

Granted this ain't the sexiest of locations or the nicest looking restaurant but if you're in the Valley at lunch time and feeling peckish this is a restaurant that you shouldn't pass by. Maha Latchmi has the best Indian food and for $7.50 for an amazing Thali you can't go wrong! If you're out to impress a date - forget it, but if you want to enjoy one of the best Indian meals in Brisbane get down here ASAP

I had a chicken baryani yesterday, it was the worst food i ever had in my life, they don't know how to cook chicken? It was pink from inside means uncooked. They use very lower quality of rice, they don't know it should be basmati rice. I tried very hard to taste the masala's but it doesn't have any flavors. I had to thrown all food in bin.

I've been eating at Maha Latchmi at least twice a week and I find the food very good value for money. For $8.50 a large thali comes with rice, sambar, two curries, roti or naan and papad. The restaurant has got a decent place to dine. I have not bought any drinks there as there is a drinking fountain just outside in the middle of Brunswick Street mall. Regarding Service: In my experience, the guy who serves me never gives Papad unless I ask for it. There is no clarity in the menu items for 'Large Thali'. I am not sure whether he serves me Papad out of the way !! Also once you are familiar, he takes it for granted and talks on the phone while serving to me and sometimes throws the Papad on my plate. Once he asked which part of India I am from and once he came to know that I am a non-Hindi speaker, his gestures while serving me nose-dived. Since I like the food and the place, I am just coping with these minor annoyance but decided to write my review at last !
