Root

If you enjoy delicious food, you have to head for Root! I would recommend booking in advance as they get full quickly. For a table of two, around 5-7 dishes is perfect. The team brought the food out gradually so we weren't buried under dishes and it's perfect. They could cater for gluten free with no issue. Mainly vegetarian dishes, but they are so tasty! My personal favourite was the Potatoes, the carrot and the cabbage! There is both outdoor and indoor seating with heaters if you sit out. It is upstairs but there is disabled access via the lift.

We absolutely love Root. Worth the trip over from the Welsh side of the bridge. The food is outstanding local, seasonal produce and each dish is so well thought out and put together, the chefs here definitely know their stuff. The staff are absolutely lovely and the place itself is really clean and welcoming. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Absolutely amazing dining experience. The food is fantastic and has such great flavour. The staff were friendly and the service quick. The ambience on the terrace is lovely as well! I went for dinner and enjoyed it so much that I came back for lunch later in the week. Especially enjoyed the mackerel and the Pizetta (not pictured) and the cheesecake (pictured).

The most amazing dining experience! A must when in Bristol. Beautiful tasting, locally sourced, seasonal produce, creating such delicious dishes. Went with a few heavy meat eaters who found this experience very eye opening to how beautiful vegetable based meals with a side of fish really are. I would advise trying out as many of the dishes as possible - all so so delicious 🤤

Root is a small and cozy restaurant in Bristol, situated in quirky shipping containers. The menu is mostly vegetarian with a wide variety of tapas-style dishes meant to share. The cocktails are nice and fresh, perfect for the hot summer. All the dishes were delicious with fresh products and interesting flavours. Personal favourite is the tempura spring onions. The staff are friendly, efficient and smiley. Overall very nice experience, recommend it!
