Cowbee

Nice little pick me up!!! Firstly, I don’t really understand the low ratings, the times I’ve been to Cowbee have always been a pleasure! Customer service is great and informative! And most importantly, their food and coffee are great! They taste great and they look amazing too! Just look at the photos!

Conflicted. This places serves some delicious sundaes however they’ve got our orders wrong more than they got it right over our multiple visits. One time a chocolate brownie sundae came with no brownie at all. Another time a strawberry waffle didn’t come with the Icecream it was advertised as with, this was disputed by the server until shown the menu. The staff seem to build the food based on their memory rather than an list and things go missing or wrong. Lovely looking place! Really wish they’d scrap the burger idea and stick with desserts. There so many amazing burger places in Bristol and this place isn’t one. Instead they should concentrate on being one the best waffle and icecream places that they once were. Not sure we would return unfortunately as we found it not superior enough in comparison to a Mccyds Mcflurry to warrant nearly 4x the price. Sorry CowBee.

Had a sweet waffle at Cowbee and was really pleased with everything. I would recommend sharing a waffle between two people. Their ice cream quality was also very good, and they weren’t sneaky on their portions, there was definitely enough for 2 people when ordering one waffle. Prices were justified in terms of the portions. For a smoother and more pleasant experience for their customers that dine in; I would strongly suggest something pretty simple. That would be fixing/sorting out your surround stereo and have it playing some kind of music; At the moment there was an extremely annoying alarm sound playing on repeat, and our table and two other tables asked if the sound could be stopped but the staff said they had no knowledge of how to turn it down and agreed that it was annoying. During our whole time dining at cowbee the alarm sound did not stop playing through their speakers.

Okay there was a big build up to this visit and it was a disappointment. I didn’t flag it with the waitress at the time, because she was also managing the till, making drinks, taking orders and generally making things happen. We ordered two waffles and ate most of them. However, the bacon and maple syrup waffle was pretty bad. Bacon cooked but not crispy and loads of white jelly fat. The salmon and cream one did t have much salmon. Both were served luke warm. Also had two coffees which were both not hot enough. Other than that, there was an odd sweet/sour milk smell where we sat. All in, for a place that specialises in waffles they should get a few more staff, cook a bit better, clean more regularly try a bit harder. For the investment that’s gone into the place, it should be pretty good. 10% more effort would make a massive difference. All in it was a 4 out of 10 for me.
