Casa Della Mozzarella

This gets stars for a very simple reason. You will never get a better tasting fresh mozzarella except in Italy. And... if you like to make pizza, or anything parmigiana, or anything that uses dry mozzarella...forget that packaged stuff. Ask for a scarmozza. It's more expensive, but you will definitely notice the taste, especially on pizza.

Let me start off by saying I’m a pretty picky eater so I was a little skeptical about some of the things that were in some of their sandwiches. I ordered the casa and as a picky eater I was worried about the balsamic and sundried peppers, but I absolutely love sundried tomatoes so I was like sundried peppers can’t be that far off. I convinced myself to leave the sandwich as is especially with a name like that it gave me very staple of the deli vibes. Well I’m glad I left it as is because it was absolutely delicious. I am not from NY so now I am on the hunt for something similar back home to get my fix.

Good food but not worth the special journey. If you’re in the area, by all means go here. For $10-12 it’s much better than a Pret sandwich. The pillowy soft fresh mozzarella lacks the milkiness I crave. The balsamic vinegar and sun dried tomatoes add much needed flavor, but ultimately the sandwich is one-note and I got bored eating it.
