My First time and trust and believe it’s not going to be m last. Everything about the food. The attitude of the people making the food was a blessing I love good food.. I will be back, and I will be sending others. hopefully next time I get to try the potato salad. I bought everything that they had today lol. I will be back so good.You better get you some!

We found this place on a tiktok video and we are so glad we found it. Dwayne, the current owner, sat there and told us the history of the restaurant and gave us great recommendations for our trip to NY. But on top of that, the food was incredible. We both got the rib dinner with a variety of sides and it was some of the best ribs I've ever had. So glad we ventured out a little bit because this was a real treat!

Johnson is a family owned 3 generation soulfood BBQ take out restaurant in the Bronx for over 40 years. The Menu items are BbQ Ribs, Fried Chicken, and Fried Fish ONLY, w/ sides ...probably one of the best Southern Fried Chicken and Fish amd BbQ you will have in the city. His Specialty Mustard BBq is amazing and legendary..... the establishment is ONLY take out. Not fancy, depending on the time there may be a wait, the owner is friendly and talkative... very affordable

It's ok. I didn't realize it was take out. I red a good review online and wanted to suppot as i was in the neighborhood
Really generous portion. Excellent customer service. Gr8 price. My only con is the ribs were overdone and had to chew. It need to be wrap in foil paper after coming off the grill. Wasn't enough to be place in the covered warming trays. The sides were good, especially the candid yams

I used to work in the Area in 1988 , and I ate a lot for Lunch, most recently I revisited Johnsons BAR BQUE ....
And the Food is So Delicious......will have you licking you lips for More

This place is amazing. There aren't too many quality soulfood restaurants around, but Johnson BBQ is well worth the $$$. The portions are big enough to split. I can't wait to get back & try other things on the menu. Also I really appreciated how the gentleman fixing plates catered to each individual person. That alone would make me come back

I have no words to really express how good the food is here, I would have loved to have taken a pic but I couldn't put my fork down long enough to be able to take one. This place is an abSOULute GEM and it's not only because of the food. Mr. Johnson has to be the best business owner I have ever encountered. His hospitality and kindness are what make this place so special. I understand why this place has been a BX staple for as long as it has been and can't wait to return!

The food is amazing. The stories are delightful. It is really an old school kind of spot where you can interact with the owner who is also the chef. He knows so much and doesn’t mind engaging with the patrons. I highly recommend this establish. The ribs and sides;The chicken and corn bread! Soul food at its finest!
