J Ramen House

Fantastic little gem in Brookfield...very savory broth on the ramen, great selection of sake, delicious appetizers, fresh tasting rolls. Staff is very attentive and personable. The J ramen with crispy duck is a must try!!! Deff try some hot sakè over the cold the second and third will go down smoothly, although the light and sweet sakè was pretty cool like a sweet Riesling. See Nikki he’s so sweet knows the regulars and is a tru master at his craft just wait and if your lucky you’ll see.

Ramen noodle shops are so popular now, glad we have a noodle house close by. Had the gyoza, soup dumplings, and 3 types of ramen. Love that they offer thin or thick ramen noodles. Broth was tasty and well flavored. Noodles perfectly al dente. Veggies fresh and crisp. But, if you are expecting noodles based on packaged Oodles... you will have to adjust expectations. This is so much better!

First of all, let me say that we broke our own rule. Never try a new restaurant until they've had at least a month to iron the bugs out. Now let me say that I really enjoyed the food. The peking duck appetizer was outstanding as was the Duck Ramen. The servie was...pathetic. The waitress took at least 15 minutes to open a bottle of wine. Then she brought the main course with our appetizers. I told her to take the mains back while we enjoyed out appetizers. btw, the spring rolls were really good and different. Of course when the mains came, they were luke warm, so we had to send them back. Once back, it was terrific. We love the space and we wish them well. We will also give them another try in a few weeks.

Don’t know what was stopping me from trying this place. I work up the road and was very excited when J Ramen was opening. Finally picked up a the Shoyu Ramen for lunch and was impressed! Pork and egg were cooked beautifully, noodles weren’t overdone and they even separated the broth for my takeout order so it didn’t get soggy. I look forward to my next visit to sit and eat!
