Tomato & Basil Pizza

Writing this while the pizza is still hot - won't continue eating it. Called in for delivery to a nearby hotel and asked for a Pepperoni w/onions, olives, extra cheese and peppers. It came to $39 plus tips & tax. I thought this was a bit steep so I ordered the Chicken BBQ pizza. After tax and tip $30. Pizza arrived in a timely manner. When I opened the box a very strong vinegar smell came from the box ad the pizza looked smashed. Grease puddles everywhere and after having the first bite my initial suspicions about cheap condiments and ingredients were confirmed. Even the meat looks odd (unlike what you would expect from grilled chicken). I thought I give the local eatery a try, but, believe it or not, Pizza Hut would have been a real treat compared to this. I am not a picky eater or reviewer, but I had to say something about it since I am now throwing my hard earned money into the garbage!

The worst priced pizza ever. Let me give you a perspective. $63.00 for 2 larges, and a chicken roll. One large 2 toppings, one with 1 topping THAT IS 4 DOLLARS FOR 1 TOPPING. And they don't talk about the crappy corn meal on the bottom of the pizza. It just completely dried my mouth out. The cheese was good, the sauce was not. The chicken is just disgusting. I very strongly recommend going to a place were you get more quality food for your dollar. And it's a shame because their menu says they have been around for 30 years. But clearly they haven't learned the basics of making a good quality pizza. The delivery service was decent but nothing special.

Terrible business!! Just an update since I see the owner left a comment and to clarify why I say terrible business... My family ordered a couple things from this restaurant for delivery... our total came out to 44 bucks and some change.... our kids were super excited for pizza we all were waiting.... time is passing by and we are like hey what’s going on with the pizza my husband is now on the phone with this business and the owner is screaming at him that he had called my husband which is false! (I have the phone logs no phone call was received from a number we did not know) And also accused my husband of calling yesterday and doing the same thing. We haven’t ordered pizza from this pizzeria because we found a couple of spots we fell in love with other then here. We only chose to order here because it was a last minute decision and we super hungry and our kids were desperate.... I will never spend my hard earned money in this establishment they are so unprofessional and so wrong how they did us! Just because it’s Brooklyn doesn’t mean you need to be a savage at heart and attack those who are trying to help keep a roof over your head and your business by buying what you are selling... practice customer service skills not everyone in Brooklyn is a bad person to treat people that way!

I had a horrific delivery experience with them while I was working a 24 hour on-call shift. My food was 43 minutes late and their number was not working to cancel the order. Once my food arrived the delivery person handed it to me on its side so the grease was running all over the place. I ordered a calzone and requested sauce which I did not receive. The wings were undercooked, overbreaded and cold. Lastly i ordered a ginger ale and received a sprite. I had to pay money to order something else. I will not be ordering from them ever again. What a waste of $20.00 for a calzone and wings.

This is one of my favorite pizza places in the area. I only order one type of pizza from here (grandmas). Fresh sauce. cheese, thin crust tomato, basil yummmmm..... Two gripes with this place delivery takes a while most nights (40 minutes) doesn't always get to your house hot(You may want to pick up your pie if you want to hot and quick and take it home). Getting a pepperoni grandmas pie is like $30 dollars after tip. The regular slices i've had there were decent better sauce then most of the places in the area. Note they do have decent coupons on the menu(you must bring the physical coupons). Their margherita pizza is delicious. My girlfriend and I can finish a full large pizza in one sitting, and have done so on multiple occasions. Their heroes are also very tasty and are made fresh upon order. Delivery is very quick as well. If you want a delicious slice of margherita in Brooklyn, this is the place!
