The Deck

So far so good! This will be a great new eat/work/chill option for the neighborhood now that the Commune space isn't a coffeeshop anymore. - Wifi - Unlimited self-serve water - Outdoor seating - Espresso drinks and cold brew - Pastries, sandwiches, "toasts" - Accepts credit cards I had a cold brew and the fig & goat cheese toast, both were tasty. I got there right after a big group of people though so it took a while, but I wasn't in a hurry. Folks in a hurry (you New Yorkers you) might want to choose a premade option like a croissant or salad.

Excellent food and coffee, and excellent value. I go every day because it is simply my favorite place in the Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, and the Kennsington area. My go-tos are the white bean spread toast ($4.50 with salad on top), cinnamon toast ($2.25 with fruit on top), and the bite-sized French toast ($5.00). I also love the grilled cheese ($6.00 with an ample side salad). Find me better taste and bargains in Brooklyn or NYC! Matt, the amiable owner, is constantly innovating and his staff is fun and friendly. The outside deck is divine in nice weather. Only three blocks from Prospect Park and the Vanderbilt Playground. Perfect family place, as you can see from this girl devouring her salad at an outside table in front. If there were a million stars, I'd give them!

There are weird vibes in this cafe. I have come here twice to do homework and have a coffee and pastry. There were no pastries available either time, even though it was still before afternoon. They were also out of a lot of their menu items on both visits. I would rather they just have a smaller menu with the things they actually make in the kitchen. It also felt inconvenient for the employees to help me. I have talked to other people who have used this cafe and they felt the same attitude, specifically from the owner. They need to work on their menu, or focus on their inventory. I think they also need to improve their environment, at least play some music or maybe dress the tables, and also their general kindness, (ask how your customer is doing, if they have been in before, or if they need help). I won't be coming back.

I am disgusted with this place. THE WORST FOOD AND SERVICE. I ordered breakfast online and they called to tell me that they did not have one of The items I ordered, Which is fine. I let them know that I would look on their menu and call back with a replacement item. I tried calling back twice and there was no answer. I called Grubhub (which is where I ordered from) and they said that the restaurant claims my order is out for delivery with the wrong order. They were only offering to refund the item that was missing. When I tried to call the restaurant back two more times they kept ignoring my call. The order arrived and it was completely wrong and my coffee was all over the bag. Disgusting hospitality. I continue to call the restaurant and no one answered. it was my first time attempting to use this place and I will never use it, or recommend it to anyone.

Terrible vibes. The owned literally eye rolled me when I asked for a decaf - then asked some mocking question. I get it, the owner thinks he is so excellent I must have insulted him with my "low rent" order, but I live nearby and just can't use this place when the owner is simply not a nice man. PASS
