I did some electrical work for the owner's parents a while back and they mentioned they owned a restaurant. One day I decided to try it out, not having any major expectations. I was wonderfully amazed by how good the Poke was followed by the Loco Moro. The food was excellent as were the drinks. If you have never had Hawaiian you should stop by and check it out. If you are a foodie you probably know about it already, and if you are a regular person you should check it out. This place is great.

This place brings me back to Hawaii every time I go. They have great authentic Hawaii. Dishes. Fun Hawaiian styles juices that you can pair with you choice of liquor. The staff is very friendly too. I recommend you check this place out.

Place look nice but not really Hawaiian style. It was pretty busy so I'm guessing that the food is good too. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to taste it :( It was Sunday night, place was busy and only one person on floor! He works great but it's impossible to do it by it self ! We order food but after 30 min waiting I ask about our appetizer and waiter told us that they have no more poke, that was main reason why we decided to eat there :/ End it up little disappointed in different place.

Onomea's version of the Hawaiian Loco Moco is my favorite to date, super sweet and tender. Last I was here, I splurged for their wild boar special. The dish was a bit salty, but a side potato salad grounded it. Sauteed onion slices accented the meat well.
The restaurant itself has room for a light crowd. Music was a little loud, but the staff were accommodating when I asked if it could be turned down - it wasn't a full restaurant, besides - but I appreciate any attention.
Worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

It certainly lived up to my expectations of being able to feel like I was back in Hawaii. From the food, to the music being played.
After L&L Barbecue closed up shop downtown, I thought the only place I'd be able to get a good Hawaiian food fix was Big D's truck (try the loco moco).
Onomea has a legit loco moco.

Great interior and picture hanging around the place.
Awesome service, very attentive and polite.
Sadly the food was overly salty to a point where it was almost a heart attack. I could feel my blood arteries filling with a high dosage of sodium.
Ordered the Kahlua pig, Korean ribs, and Poke.
Poke was drowning in soy sauce and salt. I guess the fish was not too fresh and it was masked with a pool of soy sauce and oil. I took a bite where part of the poke was sticking out and not soaking with soy...could definitely tell it was not fresh.
Kahlua pig came with a side of salad, mac salad and rice. Looked awesome, kind of like pulled pork. But it was way overly salted. Even when I mixed it with the side of white rice, it was still too salty. The mac salad was eh, pasta was undercooked.
Korean ribs looked great when it came...but sadly again it was overly salted and drowning in sauce. If they left the salt out and kept it drowning in sauce, it would have tasted fine.
Really wanted this place to fill my family's craving for some Hawaiian food without traveling half way around the world, but sadly our craving will probably be fulfilled by actually visiting Hawaii again.
Props to the two guy waiters who were so attentive and kept filling my table's water, we definitely needed lots of water after downing such a salty meal. We were never asked how everything else, but I would have been dead honest and said everything was super salty. I noticed they didn't ask the other tables around us either..maybe they already knew eveyyone was going to say their sodium levels shot through the roof..

Absolutely delicious Hawaiian food in a casual tropical environment. Get the Loco Moco, but order it with Spam rice (instead of plain 'ol white rice) -- a deconstructed hamburger over rice, topped with a sunny side up fried egg and delicious Hawaiian gravy. Get the Spam musubi as an appetizer to make the meal feel even more deliciously islandesque.

Hawaiian food has a lot of spam and seafood. If you don't like either one, don't bother. I've had loco moco in Hawaii but still think Onomea's is better.
