Poquito Picante

The atmosphere was very inviting. It was BYOB night which is a nice option for a restaurant to offer. They have an outdoor patio in the back. I love cheese. The Queso Fundido was delicious with their house tortilla chips. The chips had the right amount of salt. Yum!! I was not as impressed with the black beans and rice. I will be back to try their enchiladas. The staff is very friendly

About time we had a go to Mexican spot in Boerum Hill!!! Great food, drinks, service and the interior is gorgeous- vibrant paintings and tiling. Don't miss the garden in the back, tons of room to host a party. Excellent selection of tequilas and mescals. Definitely go for the tacos, guac, and their signature cocktail the Poquito Picante. Two thumbs up.

This is my new favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. The cocktails are flawless and the food is fantastic. They also have a lovely outdoor garden. Rafael has waited on us each time we've been there and the service is great. [Update 4/6/2018]] Something happened here. Went back this week and the cocktails and food were meh. I had such high hopes. Maybe things will improve when it gets warm out and business picks up.

Held an event there this past weekend for about 25 people and rented out the backyard patio. Owners and staff are all very friendly, accommodating to my many requests, and really worked hard to address any issues that came up. Food was great (they made sure to give us vegetarian options) and drinks were plentiful. Will definitely go back there again.

after reading the reviews I was expecting something wonderful. the best thing on the menu is the guacamole. it went downhill from there. the service is good. but taco bell is better and much cheaper. This area needs a really good and moderately priced late night joint. the curry shop a few doors down is worse.

The drinks were fantastic! I highly recommend this place for drinks but the service was slow and the food was overpriced for the flavor and quality. To be fair, the servers took the tres leches off our bill because it took so long, which was nice--they didn't have to do that. That said, it was also empty there on a Saturday night...so there really weren't any excuses for taking 20 minutes to cut a piece of already-made cake. We often had to go up to the bar for help (to get the check, a drink, etc.) even though we were sitting at a table with full table service. If we had sat at the bar, I think we would have had a better experience.

I originally checked out this place because I love restaurants with gardens -- and the garden out back is really nice -- but the food and drinks are actually outstanding. Happy hour extends to 8 or even 8:30 depending on the night (margaritas = $8), and enchiladas & ceviche are delicious. My favorite spot for Mexican in Boerum Hill/downtown Brooklyn, hands down.
