Love this bar! Bartenders are always friendly and the pours are heavy. Since covid, I've made it a point to stop here any time I'm on Manhattan Ave. and you should too.
Pro-tip: Don't wait in the bathroom lines at McCarren. Come to A Bar instead and leave with a drink.

Terrible service! If you want your bartender to take your order with an attitude, and don’t even say hi / thanks / bye, this place could work for you.

We stayed upstairs in the vacation rental by owner it was wonderful and he left us drinks coupons for downstairs and we use them great place for a neighborhood bar the community is awesome the service staff was wonderful. Our bartender was from Kansas and she had a puppy named Toto

Really really cool dive bar in the south of Greenpoint.
Their beer is good.
They have a backyard that is open sometimes.
The cocktails are good as well.
