Real Southern BBQ & Southern hospitality! Yes, Virginia, there is a Gary Lee and he's a hard working, hands on, and friendly host! If you want fancy, I'm sure if you drive a few miles, you'll find a bbq chain all dressed up to look like a bbq joint...but...if want great BBQ, this is the place! We only tried, the 1/2 chicken, wings, mac&cheese and baked beans! Loved every homemade delicious bite! Be forewarned, I also had a cheeseburg, holy cow, it was 3/4lb...even I couldn't finish it! Freshly ground beef with off the wheel Wisconsin Cheddar! Cant wait to go back!

Best smoked wings and freshest, tastiest coleslaw I ever ate. Beef brisket, sausage, & pork butt were also delicious. Was disappointed I didn't get to try the collards, which were sold out for the day. Country-casual atmosphere - - neat, simple, clean. Our party of 6 dined in, plus we ordered take out of a whole butt and large quantity of wings

Love this place. It is my go to for bbq. This time they also had jalapeno onion sausage. OMG! It's delicious. I'm not a spicy food girl, but this is just right. Not hot to the point it sets your mouth on fire. Just enough for a little kick. And, as always the bbq sandwich is the best. Gary's is just a good hometown home grown place to go to. Gary does it right.

I've stopped by Gary Lee's several times and I have never been disappointed! They brought out a pan of Beef Short Ribs right as I was about to order the Pork Sandwich and Brisket, so I decided to switch my order last minute. The Pork Sandwich is a great option! The Beef Short Ribs and Brisket were phenomenal! Mac n' cheese is my go-to side dish! Also, you can't leave without trying their Blueberry and/or Chocolate Delight. Heard about this place from a friend. Great service. Very friendly and helpful. We tried several things. Our favorite was the ribs and sausage. The sausage is perfection. The ribs are tender and seasoned well. The brisket needed more seasoning, but was tender and not dry. The smoked wings have great flavor as well. The potato salad is good, but on the sweeter side, so if that's not appealing to you I wouldn't order it. The slaw and beans are good as well. Definitely recommend the ribs and sausage. We didn't get to try dessert, but we'd definitely go back.

The atmosphere was well thought out. A cute little southern BBQ place, with southern charm. The set up was different, as everything was already cooked and set up cafeteria style and under heat lamps. You had the option to eat inside the resteraunt, but it seemed like everyone was just taking food to go. You stood in line, picked your choice of meats, and it was sold by the pound. Everything was sold by the pound, even the cheeseburgers. I was not expecting this. Ended up spending $50 on a small amount of brisket, 2 small jalapeño sausage links, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 very dry pork chops, and some macaroni. I guess that's about right, for the pricing, but it felt shocking. Over all 4/5 being that pricing was a bit strange.

Found the best BBQ food in Brunswick , Georgia. I was told about this place by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Do not judge a book by its cover. The outside looks like it can use some help, but the simplicity of its design is overcompensated by the flavor and quality of its food inside. The brisket and the chicken wings were full of flavor and tender. Their BBQ sauce is a must to add a little bit of soul. I am looking forward to returning soon.

This place is a must! Why haven’t I found them before now? (Other than I live in NC). There’s a reason they have been in business for 52 years….the food is amazing and the staff is soooo friendly. I LOVE brisket and have had my share around the country, Gary Lee’s is excellent, the bark is perfect! My husband got wings and cleaned the bones, they were that good. The Brunswick stew was awesome as well, very flavorful. The staff is the perfect picture of southern hospitality. Go early, they sell out of some things closer to closing.

Wow.....Exciting find!! Excellent service today and great food! The meat: Ribs, Brisket, Wings, Chopped pork, Smoked chicken 1/4’s and fresh made sausage! Sides: potato salad, baked beans, slaw and stew. We had a good sampler of all (except the sausage) it was super. Good flavors with moist textures. Hard to do with smoked foods! We will definitely stop in again!
