Tio Taco

My sister and I have been eyeing this place for some time now. We grew up passing this place when we were young all the time and I brought up the idea to finally give it a try. Amidst the turbulence in our society and COVID, this is truly a gem. The staff was great.We ate EVERYTHING. We enjoyed EVERYTHING. We will come back again. Would recommend 👍

Not too often you get an entire restaurant to yourself; or in this case my date and myself. With no one else, I mean NO ONE...service was exceptional and the food was wonderful. We ordered seafood tacos (shrimp) and fajitas. The fajita plate came out sizzling to the 10th degree and a huge portion. The shrimp tacos were also very well prepared and shrimp was perfectly cooked. If I had to critique, no citrus for the shrimp on the plate and the "slaw" was not impressive; pretty much a plain cabbage mix in red wine vinegar. Heck, I don't even recall much if any cilantro in the mix. But still overall was a good meal, and my date brought the rest home (as stated a HUGE portion). Not sure if anyone will ever get the place to themselves, but if it's empty and they're open go in and enjoy your meal.

Tio Taco has a slightly more authentic flavor than your average Amigos type restaurant without being so authentic as to offend the average American palate. I really love authentic Mexican food myself but that's so rare to find here in the states. So I digress. Very clean, expedient service, and friendly staff.

The margaritas are really good, I love the enchiladas and my husband says it's like being in someone's abuelas kitchen. I have worked in restaurants so I hold servers to a higher standard and the servers we have had have exceeded my expectations. I normally do a courtesy stack of the dishes when we are done eating. I don't get the chance to do that because of how attentive the servers are. They are also kind, polite and relaxed.

I had been craving some really good Mexican food and tio taco did not disappoint! I ordered a grilled chicken chimichanga with the cheese sauce and a virgin marguerita. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I was unable to eat it all because there was plenty and I kinda filled up on chips and salsa while I waited for the food. I took about half of it home. My servers name was Christina and she took really good care of me. She was friendly and very efficient and she knew the menu very well and I could tell that she had a lot of experience as a server. I highly recommend Tio Taco!
