Hometown Buffet

Thursday night is family night after 4pm kids eat( drink included) for $1.99. Adult dinners are $14.99 and drinks are $2.99. For 2 adults and one child on Thursday night it cost $41.84 The food wasn't amazing, It also was not terrible. I'm guessing people choose here for unlimited supply and variety of types. It was mediocre. Filling however not amazing flavor. The food bar was stocked with food and clean. The chicken and several other items were dry, steam table causulties... The silverware and plates needed to be checked before use, some still had specks of food on them. The staff was sparse. In fact we waited in line upon arrival for approximately 15 minutes because no one was working the cashier lane. Maybe because we arrived at 4pm? The meat cutter was absent from carving station and I had to go in search of some for service. For the first half hour we never saw a server in our seating area...maybe because it's mostly self service? Would I return...if I was invited however it is not my first choice and I wouldn't choose it if I was solo. It was a good option for variety if you are attempting to attract various people in a group.

I have such a nostalgic feeling whenever I visit one of these chains. My grandma took me to one quite often when I was young. Being new to L.A. I was in the mood for something that reminded me of home. What I got was a completely different experience. Lights were dusty and marked with splats of old food. Dusty windows look like they haven't deep cleaned in a long time. Brown residue around where table meets wall. Broken window blinds. It doesn't look like anyone had vacuumed. Backs of chairs have drip stains. none of the food was good. Greasy serving utensils. No accurate signage or no signage at all. Cross contamination. Fries were cold and looked like they had been sitting there for hours. Staff tried to revamp the pinto beans on the taco bar by mixing way too much water. then when they switched them they poured the old batch on top like it was pig slop.

This home town buffet it's not great to eat service it's horrible the food it's horrible it was cold and what's really badd Manager in charge she don't know what she's doing this place is run by a person doesn't know what is doing no manners nothing. A very filthy dirty place food everywhere it was gross my kids were not able to eat ice cream you'll see the pictures that was really gross😱🐷🤮

This is my first time at this hometown buffet. Although I was treated great by the crew, they are the only reason this place has one star. The food looks and tasted like it was microwaved. Things weren't labeled, Mac n cheese was watered down, and the stations looked really messy. Again, I had a good experience from the workers but this establishment need to show like they care about their food and work on presentation, especially on how much they charge.
