Fu Da Restaurant

My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County. We always order the same thing. I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks. Price: $18.65 or $.35/oz is higher than average for Chittenden County. Portion: 3.6 lbs between the two meals is less than average. Pros: High traffic convenient location in downtown Burlington Ten minute turnaround from order to pickup. Tasty egg-roll with crispy shell Sesame Chicken had good flavor Cons: The yellow pork fried rice was a bit dry and lacked flavor. They wouldn't allow us to swap an egg-roll appetizer for beef teriyaki sticks. Rather, they allowed an egg-roll swap for chicken teriyaki sticks instead (odd). They're still using older, smaller takeout containers which most Chinese takeouts have transitioned away from. They didn't provide utensils, napkins, soy sauce packets, duck sauce packets, or fortune cookies. Impression: Convenient location in downtown Burlington offering less than generous portion size with mixed review on flavor depending on the food item, earning Fu Da's a 2.5 star review.

Food was good but had it delivered to my hotel and after a very long day all I wanted to do was relax and eat. Low and behold I took the food out of the bag and there were no eating utensils or napkins! I had to go down four floors to the hotel restaurant and wait in line for 20 minutes to get eating utensils, last thing I wanted to do after the day I had!!
