Bonterra Trattoria

Great space to come and enjoy a very pleasant dinner! We were sat in the patio and it was just so nice, they even have heaters for colder nights. The food was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed everything that was brought to our table, including the drinks! Our waiter was beyond attentive and very charismatic, just excellent service throughout from everyone. Would definitely recommend!

After a mix up from our hotel concierge, we showed up and had no reservation. It was a Sunday night and the place was packed! At first they were not able to accommodate us, but the very gracious manager told us she will make something work. She was able to squeeze us in at the bar counter. She salvaged the night! After all we had walked over 20 minutes to the restaurant from our hotel. She was so incredibly kind throughout our entire dinner. Our food was delicious and everything seems to be cooked to order right at the open kitchen at the entrance. The entire staff was working very hard to ensure everyone had a good dining experience. I highly recommend a visit to Bonterra if you're every in Calgary.

This is, by far, worst place i have ever been to for italian cuisine. And thats coming from a guy that went Italy and determined that Calgary has the same level of taste and recommend people dont need to go to Italy to experience their food. Food: beef carpaccio had no flavour and seemed like it was just dipped in watered-down vinegar. It was not to the level i expected for the price point and had to raise awareness to it. The manager gladly took it away which is good, but did not go above and beyond. Their carbonara pasta is sub-par for the price… you can find better at other establishments who do not specialize in italian food. Their arancini was also okay. Better than the carpaccio for sure Service: 3/5. Pretty good but they wiped off crumbs on the table onto my partner’s lap… Overall dont go here for italian food. 2/5 for manager effort in the least

10 out of 10 for excellent atmosphere, service and amazingly delicious food! They were able to accommodate gluten free and vegan choices for those of us who requested it. The appetizers were delectable, no pictures because I forgot. We had Tuscan White Bean Dip, creamy and nice amount of garlic. Boar Pate with fennel and spiced apple sauce on a bed of watercress. (Outstanding flavor!) Roasted mini Pepers, delicious! Wild Salmon was a special and was very tasty. I had Mushroom Ragu with Linguni (a vegan request).There was a delicious Risotto and other entrees ordered at our table. Desserts were yummy. Olive Oil Cake with Mascarpone and Raspberry compote, Vanilla Gelato with Espresso, etc. We will certainly be back!!!

We went here for our daughter’s birthday. The service was great and the atmosphere was nicely decorated. The food was ok, price definitely on the high side for it portion and taste. Although, their focaccia bread was so good! We do have our favorite Italian restaurants and this is not one of them.
