Fionn Maccool's Irish Pub

I am giving this four stars and trying not to let my experience with our server taint everything but it was less than ideal. My companion and I were seated for over 5 minutes on a fairly quiet Thursday evening before we were given menus. We needed some time to decide on drinks but i think 10 minutes is too long of a wait to come and take our orders. We were ready to order food by the time that our drinks came but our server plopped them down without a word and walked away to the next table. We finally did get our food and it was fan-freaking-tastic! To start we shared the mini yorkies which were a great value for the price. My lentil salad was a unique blend of vegetables and was very refreshing. My companion’s calamari was well-done- not rubbery & her sweet potato fries were of good quality. As for the ambience it was what one would expect and the TVs were at an appropriate volume level to allow for conversation.

Atmosphere is great and the location is perfect. We sat on the patio and the service was average but not very friendly. I had the chicken taco special and the fixings were very tasty but the chicken was stale like it was prepared a long time in advance. Overall the beer was cold and the location made for a good lunch.

Talk about the most basic food and service one can ask for, but at a premium price. I figured a meat pie would be a specialty, but it had no seasoning, just a thick gravy and grisly lamb. No sauce came with the fries - that costs extra. Everything is way overpriced. Felt like I was interrupting my waitress's afternoon by being there. Nothing of note on the tap either - just the usual bland beer. Find a nice restaurant with a menu that has tasty food to eat at, not here.

Food is great, prices are reasonable (except when they charge for a double and give you a single). This has happened to me twice, the first time I went back to get my money due to being overcharged, the bartender distinctively remembered making the drink and said it was definitely not a double. The second time it happened I blamed myself for ordering the same drink, I didn't bother complaining. It seems when you order a whiskey sour you'll receive a single (as you should) but be charged for a double. Very busy during the lunch period, but staff are friendly.
