Haru Sushi Bar

Great quality, lovely atmosphere, & very reasonable prices. Having lived near the ocean for a number of years and being a sushi lover, I have high expectations for the quality of fish in any sushi restaurant. Haru NEVER disappoints. It’s the perfect place for a quick lunch or a sit down sushi dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. The prices are amazing, the food is delicious, and we’ll be lifelong customers!!

Great, great, great, sushi!! Their BBQ squid was phenomenal, I definitely recommend it to everyone. It came sizzling in a simmering sweet and spicy sauce, a great combo. Their California rolls were also very fresh. I also recommend their seafood miso soup as a starter; the scallops and shrimp in it added the right twist to traditional miso soup. The restaurant itself is quite modern and well decorated with beautiful cherry trees, it would make for a great romantic dinner

I ordered this from Skip the Dishes today, and the rolls I received were truly disgusting. The salmon was cut horribly, I've attached pictures, so you can see. They used salmon pieces that were cut parallel to the scales, super fatty and included the scales, too. That made for an incredibly fishy-tasting roll that's inedible--to be frank. I've had better sushi from fast-food restaurants. Never ordering from this restaurant again. Do yourself a favour and skip all their dishes!

Everyone has their favourite sushi stops, and this is our regular go-to. I often order take out and it's always quick and correct. Dining in is nicer, the service is consistently good and I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. It's a neighbourhood gem for locals and worth driving to for vacationers. Tasty!

Waitress and staff intentionally tampered with our food order. Horrific but accurate reviews of Haru on Trip Advisor. A young waitress turned my vegetable soup order into a non-vegetable broth. My friend got tiny bits of meat rather than a full order of food. The waitress did this deliberately. When paying for our takeout food, I asked my financially struggling student friend if she wanted to leave at tip. We both did leave 10% but the waitress didn't like my question about leaving a tip. The food order was so obviously changed that we worried she may have fouled the ingredients. No refund was offered when this concern was raised with management. This Haru is located on Springborough Blvd, SW Calgary.
