5/5 Stars for the food, it was fantastic. The Char Kuay Teow is nice and has a good spicy punch. The butter chicken was fantastic definitely the highlight of the meal.
3/5 Service, bloke serving us spent most of his time trying to avoid our gaze when we wanted to order or even just get a missing dish. Definitely saw us as well.
Overall really nice food but server could focus more on the customer than side tasks.

Ok so some items here are hit and mess, others amazing. Some items bought in frozen dumplings reheated, other items handmade from scratch and delicious. Such a huge menu there’s no doubt the reason why it has to be done this way. Have been here several times.
Favourite dishes are the chicken rice (or simply steamed chicken), pepper prawns and Chinese vegetables - as pictured.
Always understaffed and messy. Very busy. Good tasty comfort food.

Look the food is good. There was no drinks menu though, so we were just going to find another restaurant where we could enjoy a beer or two over dinner. But then they said they allow BYO. BUT it turns out they charge corkage, without warning you. It's quite steep for a casual dining place too, at $6/bottle of wine and $2/can of beer.
And how can the charge be justified? We completely self-served and my friend just used a single wine glass. My friends and I discussed going to visit regularly, as it is just round the corner. But this totally discourages us.
*Note to owner: charging for BYO is generally for fine dining restaurants that have their own winelists / drinks menus. This sort of unnecessary charge does discourage customers from coming to enjoy your food, which is quite good actually.

One of my favourite restaurants in Canberra. Everything I've had here has been so delicious, fresh and has a homey feel to it. Great lunch specials for office lunches too - love the veggie chow mein & sambal sauce for lunch. Prawn wonton soup is delicious too. And there's a great fried tofu entree dish. It's a place I will always come back to regularly.

One of the BEST Malay restaurants I have ever been to. The food is fresh, tasty and just great portion sizes. The staff is friendly and happy; what a great experience.
I HIGHLY recommend Madam Lu's Malaysian restaurant in Canberra!!!

This rivals the fine dining places, at half the price. We just had 8 people eat 12 dishes and there was not a single weak link. Incredible. Barramundi with ginger and Hainan chicken are highlights. Even the veg spring rolls are phenomenal. For me, bang for buck, best restaurant in Canberra.

Very accomadating even though my husband and I didn't make a reservation in a very busy and popular restaurant. Menu is authentic and food absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. Highly recommend Madam Lu's.

Really bad experience here. Used to be a big fan and attracted by its five stars, but all of these ended after I spent 30 bucks but only get three small ribs and soup, it’s totally not what looks like in the menu and totally NOT worth that price. And also the lady owner of this restaurant is really not good at serving customers. Not going to come to this restaurant anymore.
