Raj's Little Noodle

It used to be really good when it was called the little noodle bar, however the quality of the food has gone down, with the mainstream soft drinks have left the fridge to be replaced by pub squash brand and others I had never seen before. Every lunch the place used to be very busy, however now it appears to be full of friends of the owner and I feel as if I am intruding of a family get together.

I've yet to be disappointed by these guys - it's embarrassing how many times I've had the fiery Szechuan noodles! The Szechuan peppers in their recipe create a unique taste I just can't find anywhere else. Even the more traditional asian curries on the menu taste a little different compared to the standard you'd find elsewhere in Canberra, but in a good way. I have to wonder if it's due to the (South?) Indian influence of the staff, or perhaps this is just what good food tastes like? Apart from only doing lunch, the only other negative is they're all the way out in Fyshwick... but this is definitely the place to try if you get the opportunity. You get to watch your food being made in an open kitchen across from a bar which separates the dining area. Amazing how quick they can be when the store is quiet but occasionally at peak times (Eg. 12:30 on a Friday) there can be a small wait - it's well worth it though. The staff are also efficient and friendly - this place is unavoidable for me.
