Essence At The Tradies

Should have checked the reviews first! Staying on-site at the quality hotel and they pointed me in the direction of this restaurant for dinner. Horrid meal, was on the table before I got back from ordering and getting a drink. Twice cooked pork belly, first off it wasn't even belly it is a slice of pork roast that had Been roasted then dunked in the deep fryer . Super dry and hard to cut, veggies were sodden and cold. $29 bucks !!! Total rip off It's a shame because the staff were so lovely

food was terrible. Ordered steak & veggies. Veggies cold. Son ordered fish & chips. Fish was cold. I sent back a dish of san choy bow because it was dripping with oil. Person was kind enough to replace it with garlic bread. Overall it is Overpriced. Don’t eat here because it’s not worth your money or time. Chef needs to be retrained… also you need to advise customers when they enter that it’s not table service…

At the Essence it's a wait to be seated dining system, but there is no table service. My meal was virtually at the table by the time I had walked back from the cashier. Clearly, the meal had been pre-made and was sitting under a warming lamp until my order came through. My dining partner's meal came out as I was finishing the last bite of my meal. I've got no issue with the cashier system, or even the delay between serving times - if the price reflects that level of service and meal quality. The restaurant is exceedingly expensive for basic pub fair. By trying to straddle the line between fine dining and a pub feed, they've missed the mark on both.

Food was terrible - coleslaw was inedible, potato gratin was flavourless and veges were sodden. Chicken schnitzel was average. We went on a deal night so the food wasn’t too badly priced, but it would be very expensive if paying full price. Staff were friendly and quick service. Overall would not go back.

High prices, terrible service and way too hot inside. My grandpa tried to order the roast of the day for my grandma and himself and were told only one per table, which was not stated anywhere on the menu or on the specials. We tried very hard to get a bottle of water for the table but all the waiters would look at us trying to call them over then look the other way. It took us 30 minutes to get some water. The restraunt was several degrees warmer than the rest of the tradies. At one point I got so hot I ended up throwing up in the bathroom. A very terrible experience. My partner also said that the Cheese tortellini tasted like it came from the cold section of Coles.

Visited on Friday found a very long line to order our meal and they only had one person taking orders he was very slow wife ordered a steak medium it came out well done and her sides where cold , I had a reservation for saturday as well but after the Friday night I cancelled .I dont know what has happened it used to be a fine restaurant I would no longer recommend it.
