Spice On Main

My husband and I were booked for a pamper and meal package. We received these vouchers as a Christmas gift from our daughter. And eventually we synched our calendars and went on Saturday 11 Feb 2023. We were greeted by a friendly Front Desk person and was shown where we could wait. We waited in the beautiful lounge because we were early...very excited to have this pampering session of back, arm, hands legs, and head massage done. There is nothing more relaxing than a professional massage. While waiting we had enough time to check out the lounge. Small and comfortable sofa with big cushions. A very friendly dog who owned the space by keeping eye on the front door. When our turn came we were escorted into a double room because we were having a couples' treatment. While waiting for the masseuse to arrive my memory went back to 2005 when myself and 4 performers after performing live on local Chinese TV was surprised with a massage. Needless to say ...none of us expected this. When we entered the establishment, the ladies screamed because they had just watched us live on TV. What an experience it was. Many years later my husband and I would spend an entire day in the Spa on board a Costa Cruiseliner docked in Athens because it was Christmas and they did not have any tours on that day. Back to our couple's massage experience: We enjoyed our massage and once we were relaxed we were escorted to the restaurant, Spice on Main one floor below the massage parlor. The Maitre D welcomed us. It was still early and the restaurant had a few customers. We also met the cook. We chose our menu and sat chatting to the Maitre D. In our package we were allowed any 2 items on the menu plus a drink from the menu. I chose a prawn starter and Fish and roast potatoes for Main. My husband had the Spicy Steak and vegetables and Sorbet. We both had a glass of red wine. Because I had a starter, it arrived very quickly...I shared the startert with my husband. Then the main meals arrived, my fish and deep fried /roast potatoes was divine and my husband's steak and vegetables and his extra side of chili was what the doctor ordered. We sat chatting to the Maitre D throughout and later decided to order something else to share.

Delightful boutique hotel with small restaurant. Has uncrowded and unhurried feel about it. I've had lunch here a few times and although it has a small staff complement, the food doesn't seem to take that long to be served. A nice glass of wine & a good chat with a friend helps while away the time 🍷😉

Spice on Main is a gem. The food is tasty and always well presented. Have had the pleasure of enjoying some amazing breakfasts and lunches here. Each time one is always presented with great quality food and exceptional service. Highly recommend this hidden gem. Well done to Paulo do Carmo and Chef Aaron.

So we visited Spice on main that’s located inside the Sugar Hotel to enjoy their 2 course meal and what an absolute treat it was. We enjoyed the starters, mains and deserts so much as it was all freshly made,delicious, presentation was beautiful and the combination of the meals was so perfect. Let me not forget the amazing service we received from the staff. It’s a definite 10/10 for me and would go back anytime and highly recommend anyone to visit this little gem in Green Point.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service was fantastic. We had the 3 course meal. Prawns starter was delicious. We had the steak for mains, that amazing and we were surprised by the home made crisps. The dessert was also very good. The food was well presented. We'll definitely go back for more!
