This is a solid affordable hotel experience for anything from the backpacker to the more cost-effective professional. I stayed in a three-bedroom corner unit. The rooms are furnished nicely with modern pieces. The corner room has a magnificent wrap around balcony and a massive living room. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, plus a powder room in the entryway. The kitchen was ample size and came with pots and pans. The laundry room had a functional washer and dryer, but no detergent. Be sure to bring your own, or buy some for $20 rand at the nearby pay and pick down the street. The rooms had little bottles of shampoo, bars of body soap, and plenty of towels. The staff is exceptionally nice. Whatever request we had, they were more than willing to help. They were also attentive and delivered on their promises. The location is great. It’s right smack dab in the middle of Cape Town’s gayborhood. I was there with my partner and felt safe holding hands, but still got the usual stares we’ve received so far in Africa. If you’re looking for a wonderful dinner, try “Riva” around the corner. The restaurant is an Italian seafood dream. Then, head over to Cafe Manhattan two blocks away for some tasty drinks, plenty of gay kitschy decor, and LGBT+ people. End your night dancing at Cape Bar, a fun and lively dance club that is close enough to walk home to. If you’re looking for a coffee, try Vida in the mini-mall down the street, or Kamili or Shift if you’re willing to travel for a cup of joe.

Lovely South African dinner experience, while listening to the background music & watching the performance. The dinner consists of a delicious starter of samoosa, fish paté & pickled onion. Salad & bread on the table. Main course is buffet - veg breyani, potato bake, samp, basmati rice, butter chicken curry, lamb stew, line fish & mixed vegetables. Dessert was a tasty milktart slice & (a somewhat dry) malva pudding with a dash of cream. The performance from the cast was average, with a rendition of District 6, the apartheid era & the move of the people from their homes (sad but true story). Mediocre humour, but the voices were beautiful...a talented eclectic mix of people. There was portrayal of a new era (release of Mandela) & voting in of new govt., hope & glory with us winning a bid 2 host the World Cup. Waitrons & serving staff are professional & attentive.

If u want some good music theather performance & stories of Cape Town than this is the place. Food options is limited because it buffet & there is not a lot of variety. Having said that the food served is traditional cape Malay & south African which is really good. The performance from the artists is simply fantastic & will take one away to a different period in time. One should go there at least once to experience it.
