Carluccio's - Cardiff

After being turned away by 6 other restuarants in the same strip as they were "booked until 7pm" despite all having a majority of empty tables (it was 5pm when we were trying to eat) we were welcomed into Carluccio's no problem. The service was great, and the food was great too. To start we had a Tomato Brushetta, and two Calamari Fritti; for mains a Lasagne, Chicken Milanese, and Veganese, and for dessert a giant profiterole, Passion fruit meringue, and passion fruit sorbet. All the food was delicious, however the Chicken Milanese was described as being slightly overcooked - as chicken usually is in resturants, and the profiterole was filled with icecream rather than cream. Otherwise everything else went down a treat. We also recieved a voucher for items from the shop, and we ended up buying a few things before we left. Never did we feel rushed, unwanted, or uncomfortable; the staff were attentive when needed, and didn't overbear us when not needed. Good experience, and will go back soon! P.S the vegan options available, although limited, were incredibly tasty

Fantastic breakfast with absolutely brilliant service. I cannot compliment the eggs benedict enough as they were delicious with a great yolk. The espresso was great and the staff explained the difference between the different blends they offer. 10/10 for breakfast. Shall come back to try a dinner service.

Opera evening - with friends - great night. Very warm welcome from friendly staff together with a glass of fizz, followed by canapés. Opera singers performed some great classics and a few lesser known numbers in between courses from a set menu. Food was of the usual high standard. All in all a great evening - I'll look forward to the next opera night with great relish.
