La Farm Bakery Bistro

For breads La farm has its class. My favorite is their LA farm bread with Garlic Herb cream. We also like their almond and chocolate croissants. My wife worked for LA Farm as a baker and she vouches for the freshness of the breads that are baked. She tells the little extra dollars you are paying is for the efforts the chef and staff makes to bake the bread daily and fresh out of Owen to your plate. Well, in my opinion it's worth the price.

Breakfast is always phenomenal here. Recently moved back to the area & had to stop here immediately. Today I went in for breakfast & an iced latte & they forgot to stir the vanilla syrup & it sat on the bottom. They overheard me mentioning it to my mother in law out by our car & they took it inside & fixed it for me. Superior service. Can’t wait to come back tomorrow!

We often get La Farm coffee when we stop at Whole Foods, and occasionally we spring for a sandwich too. Prices are comparable to what you'd find at Starbucks, but you can really tell this is a local business that handcrafts everything; the coffee tastes like coffee should, and the bread is as fresh as it gets. Allow some time if you're getting food; everything is prepared from scratch.

I was assured both by the internet and by all whom I conversed with on the topic that La Farm was an exceptional establishment. Sadly, this one is not. It has a poor atmosphere as a result of being situated in the lobby of a whole foods. The food I ordered (croque madame) was not what I received (no egg) and the hot chocolate I ordered alongside it was clearly a tin premix. To add insult to injury my food was served with plastic cutlery and a paper cup. From the presence of an additional branch in the airport I can deduce both that the author has sold out and that he is not a true Frenchman. Luckily for the current staff of the restaurant, neither am I.
