Scroll Ice Cream

We were delighted to try out the new addition to Scrolls ever increasing dessert menu today. As well as the most instant and theatrical of ice cream desserts Scroll now make fresh Dutch mini pancakes, or poffertjes, to warm you up this winter. Quite the theatrical production as these little puffy pancakes get individually flipped and stacked. Served with your choice of fruit, confectionary and sauced you can be as crazy or creative as you like. I chose a winning combination of raspberries and strawberries, marshmallows and M&M’s and generous zigzag of Nutella over the top. Just brilliant. Thanks to the team at scrolls ice cream for introducing me to this mid morning treat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Previous Review When I saw images from scroll ice cream in IG recently I thought they were wafers and not the rolled up freshly made ice cream that I now know is scroll ice cream. Located on level 1 of Chaddy there is a great array of flavours with fresh ice cream made on a super chilled workspace while you wait. I was impressed with the skills of those in store and can only imaging how I would have fared. I one of the new flavours that have been released this weekend. The Luchee & Yakult formed part of the base ice cream and gave it a strong lychee flavour and a bit of zing. The cup was topped with popping apple pearls that did their magical poppy thing and matcha sticks. Also new to Scroll this weekend was the introduction of Dutch Stroopwafels which were also freshly made and dipped with my favourite m&m minis. These were so delicious I barely stopped eating to breath. Great little shop with lots of delicious flavour options.

It's a nice and innovative concept in terms of approaching icecream, however it melts so quickly, half my icecream turned into soup that I couldn't finish it. The rolls of icecream were nice, but lacked flavour and depth, and there wasn't much toppings either. Nice to try once but definitely won't be back. The value for what you get is not worth the price ($10? cant remember exact price) especially when there was better icecream/gelato places out there like pipadipo.
