Went for my mom's birthday because she wanted fried oysters. I got crab cakes and a bbq shrimp appetizer. Service was great. Tag team with 2 servers. Not sure if one was training but both were knowledgeable of the menu. I never make Cajun at home. So everything we tried Me and my mother both enjoyed 😋

Never knew about this hidden gem , until now. Huge plus, they have abita beer on tap and in bottles. Great thing to have when eating creole food. The mix and match option is the best way to eat through the menu. Sides are excellent too. And the desserts are out of this world. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Their blueberry cobbler is excellent and they have great service. Nice twist on the potato salad too and I enjoyed the green beans almondine too. I did the dessert as a take out and I got ice cream separately!

Wish I could post video of my 91 year old dad saying Cajun Yard Dog is the best !! Thank you Elizabeth and all ! ….. Back again and Mallory is so wonderful as well !! Making sure dad’s salmon not too spicy ! Updated to add Kim . Elizabeth and Mallory there again also providing great service!

Catfish bites app was very light and tasty for fried fish. Nice tartar sauce. Etouffee was unremarkable. Mac n cheese was gooey but lacked bold flavor. Blackberry cobbler was very good. Good service. Would come back for fried fish or fried oysters, not etouffee

I haven’t been in years and remembered why. Love the green tomatoes, good job with the okra, enjoyed the beet salad - calamari smelled strong and tasted old. Fried chicken was ok, definitely had better. Service is great and cool atmosphere, but the food is mediocre.

Cool, Cozy, and Charming Little Place -
After driving by this place many times over the years, I finally made my way in for lunch and I’m glad I did. The food is excellent! I’d return just for the shrimp and grits, which, unlike many recipes I’ve tried, was not too heavy on the sauce, and the grits were not cheesy. I loved it! The sweet potato fries were not the best – they were a little dry, but everything else we had was great. To top it off, the service was great! I will surely be back again and again.

Great food, great value and friendly service. The calamari/okra/artichoke appetizer was really delicious. The mains were good (shrimps and crawfish etouffee and chicken cordon bleu) but the sides were really surprisingly excellent! Definitely get the collards and the cucumber salad!
