Cantina 1511

I went to Cantina 511 this afternoon with coworkers for a group lunch. The location was very close to Uptown near the main Atrium Hospital. I’m giving this restaurant a four-star review only because Mexican food is not my super favorite. The restaurant is nice and spacious with a friendly, family-like feel. Our host was friendly and attentive to our group of eight. We were seated quickly, given drinks and our orders were placed quickly. I cannot say enough about how quickly our food was ordered and delivered. I had the Enchiladas Verde - Wild mushrooms, spinach, rajas, mixed Mexican cheese, topped with chili con queso finished with avocado crema and red pepper crema. It was minus the vegetable rice and black beans. It was a nice size portion and seasoned very well. I would definitely return again, invite friends hand eiggest this restaurant to others.

Our party of three sat outside under their covered patio. I enjoyed my two tacos - Baja Fish and Marco Polo. They were seasoned well with tasty fresh toppings. Also split a cuatros leches cake for dessert which was the perfect ending. Our waiter was fantastic as well. Overall, we all had a wonderful experience.

For the price and location this is good value. The kitchen is very fast and consistent, very high quality food coming out. The tacos have a lettuce wrap option which I don’t see offered at other Mexican restaurants around town. Nicely appointed inside and good music. Only downside is you can tell they are understaffed but that is par for the course these days.
