Ruru's Tacos & Tequila

The food here was really good. For starters we tried the “book it dano” and it was the best nachos I’ve ever tried. We also tried their tacos which were really good as well. My bf had the “Clarence beeks” burrito and he loved it as well. I think the food was an overall 10/10. We ordered some alcoholic beverages but we let our waitress choose for us, those were good too. The only issue we had was that one of our drinks was frozen and for some reason the entire mason jar broke so the drink spilled on our food. But because it wasn’t our mistake, they made us a new drink and remade our dishes. They were really nice and professional.

I still believe this place has one of the BEST OUTDOOR PATIOS in Charlotte! They have a private room in the back for special occasions. Big community tables for bigger parties. The patio is PET FRIENDLY 🐕. This location has 2 bars, inside and out. Drink specials. Not a really big space...but the patio definitely makes up for it. They also have an upper level available for seating. I recommend the 3 amigos, calamari, and the long duck dong Korean steak 🌮. Prices definitely varies on what you order. Menu stays the same whether lunch or dinner.

Went here recently and was really surprised by the place. The staff were all friendly and attentive and the food I ordered was great. The patio looked incredible also, but it was a little too chilly to be out there. Honestly wasn't very expensive either. I'll definitely be back if I'm looking for a bite in this part of town again!

Slightly odd, but their white beans are phenomenal. A great variety of tacos. Food is always tasty. Drink specials are good too! I hate that their rice has changed to cilantro only (ruins their dishes for those of use with the soapy reaction to it). My only other compliant is that they have plants that cover the railings on the back entrance. We recently went with an older aunt and the plants blocking the railing made it really difficult to get up the steps.

Always thought the inside was not great. Found out about the back patio last week. Definitely a great outdoor space WITH ample parking in the back. Food is pretty decent and decent menu selection. Accessibility: Not sure about wheelchair accessibility but it looked like there may have been on the back side (not sure).

We got recommended to come here on our way out of town and decided to try it out. Jay the bartender gave us great service and is a true hustler, while we were there we saw him working twice as much as everyone else. He was not only taking care of the bar guests, but also serving tables and making sure everyone got food. While I know everyone’s perception is different, it seemed like (who I assume) the manager was, was doing as little work as possible.

First of all, it took a while to find the restaurant. Missed the turning from the main road three times which was frustrating and didn’t even know there was parking in the back. The food was good. I had the shrimp fajitas - everything was excellent. My friend had the beef nachos. For drinks I ordered the friends zone margarita with strawberry flavor. It was below average. I couldn’t really taste the alcohol. One thing that bother me were those invisible tiny bugs. They definitely took me for dinner. We were seated inside by the window. Those suckers are me alive. I had hives on my hands and legs and feet. My friend didn’t experience it but definitely took a star out because of that. I guess if you have sensitive skin like mine, bring your bug spray. Other than that, food was good. Really good and drinks were below average.

Stopped in for lunch after a suggestion from a local business owner. Nice casual atmosphere. Wish we’d come in the evening to sit outside and enjoy the patio. The menu was extensive but not overwhelming. Our party of 3 all got tacos, and we shared chips and queso. The food was delicious! We especially loved Fay Guy in a Little Coat! Highly recommend for great tacos!
