Captain Steve's

Food was good (they were completely out of the crab legs which I came for) I had baked fish w/ onion rings and okra. Most of the food was fried (which I don't care for) the menu should have more steamed/broiled choices. The poor waiter was catering to us & a family of 20! He forgot about us but we could clearly see why. He apologized but we said we understood. We tipped him 1/2 of our total bill because he worked so hard! Overall, it was a good dinner.

I got the $18 platter with fried oysters, popcorn shrimp, jumbo shrimp, scallops, deviled crab, and flounder. It was pretty good. I’m not really into the deviled crab, but i think that’s just a preference thing. The broccoli had no seasoning but was not a deal breaker. It’s definitely a place i would visit again.

I decided to try them out for the first time. I got their lunchtime special Catfish strips, Alaskan Whitening, onions rings, slaw, and hush puppies. The fish was excellent. It was fried pretty good, a decent amount of seasoning. I also enjoyed the coleslaw and hush puppies. The onion rings skin was too salty. And I tried some of their ranch sauce which was too fattening. But overall I will go their again.

Place was packed, but after a long day of house renovating, this place was good. More than enough food as we were so hungry, we almost finished off the bowl of hush puppies before our food came. Scallops and oysters was very good and a good portion came home with me. Service was very good despite the fact our waitress was handling a huge, two long-table party. Clean, with reasonable pricing and good service. We don't go out for seafood ery often, but would recommend Captain Steve's for those that have a hankerin'.

Well we drove over an hour to get here only because of the lies that were said about this restaurant and staff. It did NOT disappoint! The service was super fast, the food was excellent and we will be back. The ONLY change I would make is the portions are TOO big. This is a small plate of shrimp I am attaching a picture of. It was HUGE! Also just for the haters out there, the room we were in had a 50/50 split of white and black. So it seems your protest didn’t work out too well. Maybe everyone knows the “protestors” were lying from the start.
