Anntony's Caribbean Cafe

Very tasty Caribbean food. Being originally from the north, West Indians can be a little aggressive... The staff here was really nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Also music playing outside. The restaurant was very clean and you can space out indoors and outdoors. This location also offers meal prep service. Prices look decent. My oxtail dinner was great. I enjoyed the plantains and chicken Philly cheese steak egg rolls.

If you are yet to experience dining at Anntony’s let me tell you. “Your Missing out”! If you want a fun new drink get the “The Swank”, it’s not a Alcoholic drink..lol..You’ll thank me later!! The food was delicious..I can’t tell you what I like better about my meal but it was all excellent...That piece of chicken right there had my name all over it. If I were you next chance you want to try a decent Caribbean place head to Anntony’s. Tell him I sent you!!

Anntonys is a hidden gem. Tucked away in cozy corner of shopping center, the food cannot be beat. The inside is simplistic and that's how they lull you before giving you a perfectly roasted and tender chicken quarter/half/whole smothered in their signature sauce. Get the sides! Potato salad sounds ordinary, but it packs some gentle heat on the backside. Collared greens are way better than most, again sauced in their signature spices. Macaroni and cheese is better than most, with plenty of real cheese baked in to it and not a fake sauce like most places try to do. Honestly, it's worth finding. You can buy their sauce by the bottle as well to upgrade your own home cooking!

The food is still great. Just had to wait 42mins after opening time(but I did arrive prior to opening)& ordering before getting food. They seemed extermely short staffed because no one ever came outside to see if we simply needed salt, pepper, sauces, napkins or asked how our meal was. The food is still great but the atmosphere and customer service was really lacking that day. We even had trouble ordering a large To Go order....a $54 order. Hopefully that improves because I love going here and would hate to see them close. They've been there for years- been eating here for years and would hate to lose this Charlotte staple for Caribbean food!

I don't understand why all the negative reviews. Yes, it isn't traditional Jamaican food, even though they sell some traditional Jamaican meals, like jerk chicken and peas and rice. However, the food was very tasty. The peas and rice was very moist and had great seasoning. The owner was very pleasant.

Husband loves their oxtail and I usually get either the wing dinner or special of 2 piece dark. Gotta watch tho, sometimes they only give you seven wings instead of eight! Also I've learned my lesson, don't order the extra sauce at 50 cents a tiny 1-2 ounce serving because they put more sauce on them when you DON'T ask for it!! Black beans are wonderful, greens were way too salty but we got last serving out of the pot. Swank tea usually good but we've had it a couple times and had to send it back cause it wasn't any good. Still one of our favorite "little hole in the walls".
