I am so sorry that I just discovered this place. I've driven by for years but never stopped. But I finally did and I realized what I had been missing. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. I am very particular about how my eggs are cooked, but every time I've ordered them from here, they have been cooked just as I like. I am so sorry to see them go.

Love love love this place!! One of Charlotte's Best kept secrets. A diner that you didn't know exist in plaza midwood. Low-cost breakfast food, simple awesome coffee and the staff is always really friendly and helpful. You can tell it's great cuz all the locals go there every morning. Highly recommend. The only thing I would change is if they wouldn't use foam plates foam togo container or foam cups

Sammy’s Deli is more than a restaurant for me; it’s a comfort zone. It reminds me of that “diner back home” where you can go and just feel like you are part of a bigger family. It’s almost as Plaza Midwood as Plaza Midwood gets. They have the open windows so you feel like you’re looking out into all of Plaza Midwood, but you’re also safe and cozy inside a diner space with multiple flat screen TVs, witnessing regulars catch up with the staff, chatting back and forth with Billy and crew. It’s an experience for sure and that’s why it keeps drawing me back. A nice energy. The food is excellent too and affordable. I’m a fan of their breakfast; 2 XL eggs scrambled with cheese, side of bacon and hash browns, or their gravy biscuit. They have one of the best gyros in town also. The quality of the gyro meat is among the best I’ve ever tried. Great sweet tea! Affordable prices too! I’m sure they have a lot more to offer but that’s where I’ve been stuck for now. All in all, a no frills joint where you can come as you are, feel like part of a family, and get some cheap delicious home cooked meals.
