Saona Restaurant

I drove by this place few times before and finally after over 3 yrs not eating out we finally decided to eat at Saona. The food was amazing the service was the best and friendly waiter and enough food to bring home leftovers. I love this place and will definitely go back the price was reasonable and won't break the bank. They also have 2 pool tables and u can have events there also.

For anyone reading this, I'm not sure where the bad reviews came from because this place has of, if not THE BEST Dominican food in Charlotte. I ordered the chicken and rice for lunch with a chicken empanada on the side. The chicken and rice were full of flavor and Saona was not shy with the portions. I mean seriously, I was truly left speechless with how much flavor was packed into my meal. The authenticity also shines through their food and their service. I was called by the restaurant to correct an error with my order and to ensure that everything was made correctly. They happily made any adjustment that I requested. Between the service, food, and authenticity, I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some true, soulful Dominican food. Give them a try if you're in the area!

Authentic Dominican food!!!!! Came for the weekend (with friends) for the Journey concert April 2022, found this Spanish restaurant and WOW!!! The food, environment, host/server Ms Yiskauri was so sweet! I felt like I was back in Puerto Rico circa 90s!!! ❤️❤️❤️! Will come back soon and recommend my friends when they visit Charlotte!

Made a trip to Charlotte and was craving some mangu and this place has AMAZINNNNNG mangu! I ordered the typical dish of mangu which is mashed plantain with the 3 golpes (salami, cheese and egg) topped with some pickled onion. It’s just as good as the Dominican food in NYC. Also, their chinola and lemonade was 10/10! The best juices I’ve had. The customer service was great, the lady was so nice and on point. Even took lunch to go, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great customer service very nice waitress told her it was my first time there gave great recommendations so I went with the stewed ribs beans an rice the food was presented very nicely and it was also delicious I was a little apprehensive since it's my first time trying out Dominican food but it is damn good like home cooking will definitely be back for more and oh never had iced tea with lime in it now I think Its the only way I want it is like that all the time lol

We went there on a Sunday evening and it was quiet. My boyfriend order fried pork chops with rice & beans. I ordered steak with onions, yellow rice & fried Yuca. If you are in a Dominican restaurant you can't forget the beer. The reason why I give it a 4 star is because we wish the food was hot & not warm. Other then that the service was good. The waiter does not come every 5 minutes to bug you. We will definitely go here again!
