Sun Wah Bbq

This meal was phenomenal! I crave the Peking duck since we went there all the time. They have limited number of the ducks for the day, so I would definitely give a call before you go, or go early. The amount of stuff that comes with it is a lot, so it’s definitely worth the price. The broth was so good as well as the best bao buns I’ve ever had. Would go back to Chicago just for this place.

Their pecking duck is the best! It's not on the menu but if you tell them that you want to order the pecking duck they'll know what you want. Basically you get a whole duck and they will cook it THREE way for you. First, they will slice the meat off the whole duck (on the side of your table) and it will be served with bao. Then the leftover meat on the bone will be cooked into fried rice. Last but not least, the bones are made into yummy soup! I think this is good for 2-4 people. I believe it is around $70 for everything which is very worth it.

The Sun Wah duck feast is an incredible dining experience, offering a whole duck served over three courses: roasted duck served in slices (with steamed buns provided), duck soup, and a choice of duck rice or noodles. It's an ideal spot for larger group dining. Their Cantonese BBQ selections are amazing as well, and we especially loved the roast pork. The goat dusted fish from their regular menu is another standout dish, with perfectly textured fish fried with salty egg flavor.

Sun Wah BBQ is a Chicago institution. There’s a reason they’ve been doing this for 35 years and it shows. Never before have I experienced anything like the Beijing Duck dinner. A multi course affair where a whole roasted duck is carved table-side, bao and toppings are provided, then they make duck fried rice from the trimmings, and duck soup from the bones. Call ahead and reserve and bring some hungry friends. The staff is always courteous and incredibly helpful. The quality of the food is top notch and I’m constantly impressed with everything I’ve tried from here. These folks are absolutely duck experts and you’re missing out if you’ve never tried it. As a bonus, I’ve also tried their extra crispy egg rolls which pair perfectly with their house made chili oil. The char siu bao was also exceptional.

I had the whole Peking Duck meal, where they serve the crispy skin, and cook the rest of the duck meat in fried rice and made soup from the bones(which is surprisingly good). The Peking duck is juice, good sauce, just like the ones in Hongkong❤️ the place is clean, the waitresses were quick and helpful. Can't wait to go back to try their other dishes, especially their BBQ meat😁
