Harolds Chicken Shack has AWESOMELY GREAT CHICKEN! Perfectly cooked with a nice crisp, great flavor (not spicy, you sauce it as you wish), not salty, just really good! Onion rings are great too. Breaded type not the beer battered things. Service was friendly and quick - but did I mention that their Chicken tastes great? Oh indeed! Best fried chicken around.

Got 5 wings with mild sauce. It came with fries and a toast. Wings were delicious, tasted and smelled like KFC outside the US. I'm a bit confused by the mild sauce that everybody raves about though, because it kinda just tasted ketchupy to me. The wings were delicious regardless.

First time trying Harold's and the food was okay. The chicken was fried just right but could have used a little more seasoning. The sauce complimented the chicken well. The spicy reminds me more of hot sauce. The fries were fresh. The Mac and cheese was okay. And the lemonade was too good.. The customer service was excellent which is always a plus. Overall I would come back again when I am in the area.

First time trying Harold’s. As a kid from the suburbs who’s finally moved to the city I had to try it. I had the chicken sandwich and it was actually really decent. The chickens crispy and juicy and it’s a decent size portion. I honestly would just need it to be more spicy. I thought I had ordered it spicy but I suppose I didn’t I’m not sure. Be weary of the wait times. People were getting their wings orders faster then I was getting my sandwich!

The food was delicious! It was definitely worth it. The chicken was fried perfectly. I really enjoyed the collard greens. The red velvet cake hit the spot at the end. There is metered parking and it’s safe. The workers were friendly and efficient. There was not a long wait time.

Really good chicken with a spice to it. Always made fresh and to order and get the lemonade on the side it makes it that much better to order. Love overall the food and when coming back to Chicago will surely order again.

I had a great experience. I realize people are human and make mistakes so I never have exceedingly high expectations for anywhere. However, the food was great. I’ve been to a multitude of Harold’s around chicago and I’ve been to this one multiple times and never had an issue. The chicken dinners with mild sauce and lemon pepper is the best thing on the menu in my opinion and it never fails! Also the strawberry lemonade is the best I’ve ever had!

The food tasted good and the service was quick. The only downside was that the restaurant smelled like cigarettes. We ended up taking our food back to the hotel. But other than that the food was actually not bad.

Houston just got Harold’s Chicken however, I wanted to try where it originated (in Chicago) so that I can compare the 2. The chicken is well seasoned and fresh but the famous “mild sauce” was sub-par. The lemonade was good and not over sweet. We got the 5 piece combo which came with fries. 4/5 because of the sauce and the average but GOOD chicken. I would eat here again but not a priority chicken spot for me.

The fried chicken was a little dry and missing just a bit of salt, the waffles were good. The macaroni with cheese and chicken was the best I have had in a restaurant. Absolutely top notch service.
